Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss for spring 2014 is nearly here!!
Naked Lipgloss is a whole new era of gloss from Urban Decay. It comes in nine shades and in some really beautiful packaging. The tubes are a metal-looking pale rose gold/champagne color and the overshell has a cut-out spelling out “Naked” The cool thing is you can see the gloss shade through the cut-out and also on the bottom of the tube, so you know exactly what you’re getting. The applicator is a new “flocked paddle applicator” which is soft and gives a nice amount of product with each swipe.
These glosses are a gloss and balm in one. They are super hydrating and contain hyaluronic filling spheres, vitamin E, avocado oil, shea butter and rosehip seed oil which gives you antioxidant vitamins A and C.
They aren’t really meant to be full coverage, intensely pigmented glosses. They are light, creamy and very shiny though. The shades range from nudes to pinks with a couple shimmers tossed in for good measure.
Walk Of Shame is a pale nude/pink with subtle micro-shimmer.
Nooner is a light neutral pink/nude with subtle micro-shimmer.
Liar is a pale mauve creme.
Lovechild is a light baby pink creme.
Streak is a medium coral creme.
Naked is a nude/pink with a pearl pink micro-shimmer.
Beso is a dark mauve creme.
Rule34 is a medium brown creme.
Freestyle is a medium brown/nude with gold micro-shimmer.
Overall: There are quite a few reasons I really like these. First off the packaging is beautiful, easy to hold, use and carry around. The glosses feel so darn hydrating and smooth on my lips! They feel more like a great balm than a typical gloss because there is zero stickiness to them. They have a slight mint scent, but it’s very mild. A couple of the shades settled into my lip lines right away (Lovechild and Nooner) which is a slight annoyance. The ones with micro-shimmer don’t feel gritty or look super sparkly, which is nice for a subtle look. Some of them do look very similar on my lips though. My personal favorite ones on me are Liar, Streak and Naked.
Availability: Starting January 14th on Urban Decay.
What do you think about these new glosses? Which ones do you like?
