When I was at IMATS this past weekend I had this urge. An urge to buy something. But all the regular makeup wasn’t doing it for me. I see so much makeup on a daily basis. Have I become jaded?
But then I walked by the Tat2U booth for a second time, after having played with their stuff a day earlier. My friend and I were hemming and hawing about what, if anything, we would buy. I had ZERO intention of buying the Tat2U Ink Pen set. I mean what the hell do I need this for? Nothing. But then magically, I was handing over my card and they became mine.
These Ink Pens are sold as either individual pieces or as a set. Of course because I didn’t need a single one that meant I had to buy all ten, plus the Oops! Pen that came with it. They came in a really cute black and white checkered bag. I also bought the Tat2U 2 Stay Body Art Sealer.
So what are these exactly? They are semi-permanent felt-tip marker pens with cosmetic grade colorants inside. The dry quickly, last a long time (especially with the Body Art Sealer) and have a double-ended tip. So when one side dries out, you flip it around and have a new one. Pretty cool!
The set also comes with the Oops! Pen, which is an eraser pen for if you make a mistake.
I watched one of the Face Off alums using these in a demo and they looked really amazing. So I suppose, if I don’t get too lazy, I can at least try these out during Halloween!
Here are swatches straight from the pen with none of the Body Art Sealer over them.
Here I’ve sprayed the sealer on top. You do have to be careful with the spray because it only requires a very fine mist and you should spray from 8-10 inches away. I think I used too much so the colors bled a little.
This is my hand after removing as much as I could with a makeup wipe. The stuff stays on!
I was able to purchase the whole set and spray for $90.00 at IMATS, which is a great deal. Online you have to pay $12.00 per pen, $10.00 for the Oops! Pen plus the spray is $8.00 so that would be $138.00.
So no regrets for me!
Have you ever used any ink pens like this for face/body designs?
Note: Undetermined if cruelty free
