The Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection is a new limited edition collection featuring 14 shades created by country singer Carrie Underwood.
The collection features a wide variety of shades and finishes. We’ve got the standard pink and red cremes, but also a super cool greenish/grey, some vampy shades and some glitters for good measure.
As far as formula these were pretty good, if not a bit thin. For some of the lighter shades I could have used three coats rather than the two I did because they came out a little uneven with my (damn) ridges.
Love My Pups is a super pale pink creme. This one never really evened out for me and my awful ridges. But when it’s not THIS close-up, it looks decent. This was three coats (could have used four!)
Southern Charm is a nude/tan creme. This one wasn’t as thin as Love My Pups, so I used two coats here.
Sweet Daisy is a peach creme. This is a pretty, girly shade, but again a little uneven with two coats and my ridges.
Carnival Cotton Candy is a candy-colored pink creme. This one has a thicker formula and covered better. This was two coats.
Some Hearts is a bright coral creme. So pretty and shiny! This was three thin coats.
Color Me Country is a warm-toned pink creme. Gorgeous shade, I love this one. It too was on the thinner side though so three coats would have been better than the two I did here.
American As Apple Pie is a bright classic red with just a hint of shimmer running throughout. Very pretty shade and great formula that covered with two coats.
Sing You Like a Bee is a pale yellow/gold shimmer. This is such a pretty shade, no photo I took of it really did it complete justice. It’s one of my faves in the collection. This was two coats.
Carrie’d Away is a full coverage gold glitter. This is just two coats and it covered very nicely.
Goodbye Shoes is a greenish/grey creme. This is a really great shade and another one of my faves here. You hardly ever see a grey with this much green in it which makes it rather unique. Great formula, this was just two coats.
Fisher Queen is a deep purple shimmer. It reminds me of velvet. Pretty shade, maybe not unique though. Nice formula, this was two coats.
Backstage Pass is a dark brown/plum shimmer. Super pretty shade, loving it! The formula was on the watery thin side, so I needed three coats for complete coverage.
Party Bus (over American as Apple Pie) is a silver holo in a clear base with regular and confetti glitter chunks. The larger confetti pieces, which are shaped like flowers, tend to settle on the bottom and I had to kind of fish them out to get some on my nail. The smaller glitter pieces apply easily though. This is just one coat to show what it looks like.
Lips are Dripping Honey (over Fisher Queen) has various sized gold holo glitter in a clear base. This one was easy to work with and I had no problems. This is just one coat.
Overall: There were some kind of average, less unique shades in here, but also some really great ones. For me the standout shades are Some Hearts, Sing You Like a Bee, Goodbye Shoes and Backstage Pass. But American as Apple Pie is a beautiful red also.
Availability: Starting this month at CVS, Ulta, Kmart, Duane Reade, Kroger, Walmart, Fred Meijer, Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drug, Loblaws.
