It’s Friday and the weekend is nigh, so let’s celebrate with some glitter, shall we?
Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Glitter Singles for 2014 are coming soon to a drugstore near you, are you excited? Oh also there are three new regular Eyeshadow Singles, which aren’t glitters, which I have included in this review as well.
At first glance I was like OH NO, these are going to be a nightmare of fallout horrific-ness. But then I realized they are glitter creams shadows. Yeah, I didn’t bother to read the press release which clearly stated that before I dipped a finger in to swatch. 😉
So yes, they are infused with coconut oil and aloe so that they glide on easily and don’t dry out. They claim to be crease-resistant and long-wearing. I haven’t worn them on my eyes and quite frankly probably never will because I feel like my age + glitter eyeshadow doesn’t really look so hot. BUT the other three new ones will work for me!
Groupie is a pink glitter/cream.
Brass is a cool gold glitter/cream.
Distortion is a blue glitter/cream.
Vices is a red glitter/cream.
Binge is a purple glitter/cream.
Spiked is a silver glitter/cream.
Bleached is an iridescent gold/green glitter/cream. Super pretty, I *might* wear this one.
Cheeky is a medium pink shimmer.
Suede is a medium blue shimmer.
Unchained is a greyish silver shimmer.
Overall: One thing I was wondering about with the glitter creams was if the glitter was just on the top or if it went all the way through the product. I dug out a corner of one of them and it does go all the way through. They feel just a little bit gritty at first but one you kind of blend the top layer of glitter into the creamy shadow it feels smooth and kind of slippery. You can build them up a bit to get more glitter if you want. The other three regular shadows feel soft and were decently pigmented. I’m not blown away by any of the shades really, but they are nice.
Availability: Drugstores in January 2014.
Are you tempted to try out any of these shadows? How do you feel about this much glitter on your peepers?
