MAC False Lashes now comes in five shades!
This mascara is formulated to create thicker, longer fluttery lashes. The “double-lush brush” gives you a nice amount of mascara without it being clumpy or messy. The shades now include False Black (black), Counterfeit Brown (mauve-y brown), Plum Reserve (plum), Blue Charge (bright blue) and Artificial Aubergine (eggplant). I love that the tube color matches the color inside so if you have more than one, you don’t have to fumble around trying to read the teeny print on the bottom of the tube. Or is that just me? 😉
Blue Charge is a medium bright blue shade. This is just over my lashes with no black underneath. It’s not like a super electric blue like some blues are. It’s a little more mellow but still noticeably blue.
Plum Reserve is a more mellow, less noticeable shade than Blue Charge. This is just over my plain lashes and it barely registers as “plum”. But you can see the color more in direct sunlight.
Overall: I like both but almost always find myself reaching for a plain ‘ole black mascara. Occasionally I will add some color just on the tips if I am feeling extra motivated (and less lazy than usual). I do like the formula though. There are no clumps and it helped lengthen and slightly thicken my lashes.
Availability: MAC through January 23rd.
Yea or nay on colored mascaras?
