theBalm Balm Voyage! for holiday 2013 is brand spankin’ new and trust, you are gonna drool over this hottie.
This face palette comes wrapped in the cutest travel-inspired imagery and opens up to reveal 16 eyeshadows, three lip and cheek creams and a mirror surrounded by your passport info. 😉 They even give you four guides to beauty looks on the lower flap which include looks for Smokey in Shanghai, Mauve in Montréal, Clubbing in Côte d’Azur and Sun-kissed in Sydney.
Each eyeshadow name corresponds with a seat number and then the lip and cheek creams are named after the First and Second Officers and the Captain, of course. So cute!
A4 is a deep smoky charcoal grey shimmer.
B4 is a medium chocolate brown shimmer.
C4 is a medium warm brown/bronze shimmer.
D4 is a deep olive green with shimmer.
All four of these were so incredibly soft and pigmented. Gorgeous shades. They are shimmery but not glittery, so not that fall-out prone.
A3 is an intense silver metallic.
B3 is a deep smoky mauve matte.
C3 is a medium warm taupe matte.
D3 is a golden champagne metallic.
These were also nicely pigmented shades. I was rather impressed with how soft and smooth the two mattes in the middle are.
A2 is a vivid purple with blue shimmer.
B2 is a soft icy blue/green shimmer.
C2 is a deep blue teal matte with blue micro-glitter.
D2 is a pale pink shimmer.
Again, great pigmentation with these ones. B2 is a really pretty unusual shade and C2 is amazing!
A1 is a pink/mauve metallic.
B1 is a pale nude matte.
C1 is a shimmery pale vanilla.
D1 is a shimmery golden yellow.
Once again, nice pigmentation and soft shades. D1 is really cool and different I think.
Second Officer, First Officer, Captain
Second Officer is a slightly sheer bright red.
First Officer is a pigmented coral.
Captain is a slightly sheer pink.
These are all buildable shades. Captain is SO pigmented you won’t need to build it up. All three can be used on both lips and cheeks.
Overall: I really love this palette! It’s designed exactly for the person like me – a sucker who cannot resist a really cute design. But also the eyeshadows inside are so great. The colors are interesting, super soft and very pigmented. I like the lip and cheek shades as well, but honestly could do without them and be perfectly happy with the palette.
