Urban Decay Vice 2. Urban Decay Vice 2. You know you want it, I know you do. Hey I made a rhyme. 😉
This review is the start of an entire night/day of brand new Urban Decay products for holiday 2013, all launching September 10th. Be prepared for an onslaught of fabulousness for the next 6 hours on the hour!
This palette was asked for by so many people and now they brought it back in a new version for the holiday season. This palette features twenty ALL NEW eyeshadow shades! Holy cannoli Batman.
It’s limited edition and features an abstract orchid design that is applied with a special process so no two palettes are exactly alike. Press a button and it opens up to a gigantic mirror and a dual-ended Good Karma Shadow and Crease Brush. Oh and of course there is a fancy-ass jeweled “UD” on the front.
Smokeout, Lovesick, Shellshock, Coax, X-Rated (over primer)
Smokeout is a deep blackened taupe satin. This shade is amazing, I have nothing like it. Soft and saturated.
Lovesick is a black matte with iridescent micro-glitter. Nice and dark and the glitter doesn’t feel gritty.
Shellshock is a very intense metallic silver. Extremely pigmented and looks like metal.
Coax is a metallic pink with golden iridescence. I don’t normally fawn all over pink eyeshadow, but this one I really like.
X-Rated is a soft pink satin. Nice soft texture.
Prank, Madness, Strike, Stash, Poison (over primer)
Prank is a very dark navy blue matte with turquoise shimmer. This is another amazing, amazing shade. So intense and unique!
Madness is a medium metallic blue with blue micro-glitter.
Strike is a medium antique gold with silver micro-glitter. Gorgeous shade.
Stash is a medium olive green with iridescent micro-glitter. So pretty, I love an olive green.
Poison is a charcoal grey satin with iridescent micro-glitter.
Radar, Damaged, Voodoo, Betrayal, Derailed (over primer)
Radar is a medium metallic brown with iridescent micro-glitter. Cool shade.
Damaged is a vibrant and deep emerald green metallic with shimmer. Awesome and soft.
Voodoo is a metallic purple shimmer with iridescent purple micro-glitter.
Betrayal is a bright lavender with blue duochrome. Fabulous shade, super soft.
Derailed is a metallic taupe with shimmer. Another excellent shade, one of my favs.
Dope, Toxic, Habit, Ambush, Rewind (over primer)
Dope is a pale pink champagne satin.
Toxic is a metallic copper/pink with coppery/pink micro-glitter. Great shade!
Habit is a very light nude matte. Good neutral in a sea of shimmers/glitters.
Ambush is a metallic chocolate brown satin. Very soft and intense.
Rewind is a medium brown matte. Soft and nice payoff.
Overall: I think this is a really great palette and there are some stunning eyeshadows in here. I don’t love these gigantic palettes in terms of size and portability, but it wouldn’t stop me from purchasing because the eyeshadow textures and colors are amazing. I do love that if the palette is this big, there is a HUGE mirror and the nice dual-ended brush. I think the stand-out shades are Smokeout, Coax, Prank, Strike, Stash, Derailed, Damaged and Ambush.
