MAC RiRi Hearts MAC is new this fall and it’s filled with some beautiful makeup in beautiful packaging.
This smallish collection features shades for eyes, lips, brows and cheeks and is all encased in warm rose gold packaging. You know me, I love rose gold anything, so just looking at the packaging makes me happy. That is until I feel it. It feels very plastic-y and cheap feeling. Before I touched it I was hoping that it would be some kind of metal. Heavy, weighty and luxurious feeling, but nope. Also, it’s super duper fingerprint-y. BOO.
Either way I was still impressed with the colors and pigmentation of what was inside the packaging, so yay!
The first shade is a light warm gold with micro-sparkles.
The second is a pale champagne/pale pink with slight sheen.
The third is a deep bronze/brown with gold shimmer.
The fourth is a medium metallic golden tan.
The pigmentation over a primer was really nice with these, especially the last two. I love all these shades together, they really compliment each other.
Hibiscus Kiss Powder Blush Duo features a pale matte bronze and a cool-toned coral blush. The bronzer was extremely light on me and I could barely get it to show up! The blush was nice and pigmented though.
Diamond Cream Colour Base is a creamy, pale golden shimmer.
Bad Girl Gone Good Powder Blush is a gorgeous, pigmented, soft warm copper/peach.
Nude Lipstick is a cool-toned nude matte shade. This one doesn’t look that good with my skin tone but would look great on others.
RiRi Woo Lipstick is a cool-toned bright red retro-matte. Love, love it.
RiRi Woo Lipglass is a cool-toned bright red gloss. Very nice color and the application was nice and even.
Deep Dark Brunette is a dark cool-toned chocolate brown. Great shade, the kind I usually use for my brows since I like darker, cooler shades.
Talk That Talk is a deep plum shade. Nice shade with a vampy lip.
Pointblack is a jet black liquid liner.
Gigablack is a black mascara and one of my favs because no clumps, no flaking off and it curls lashes as well!
Overall: I love the way the packaging looks, but then was disappointed with how it felt and how many fingerprints show up. But that won’t deter me from using some of these items. The eye shadow quad is probably my favorite thing here. Loved the colors together and the texture and pigmentation was really nice. I’ve said before I love RiRi Woo Lipstick and the Lipglass is also nice. Both the Cream Colour Base and Powder Blush were really nice as well. The Powder Blush Duo didn’t wow me because the bronze shade was SO light and un-pigmented.
Availability: MAC North America starting September 26th and International starting October 3rd.
