Have you heard of Londontown? Well now is the time to get familiar with them and their Londontown Lakur line.
Londontown is a brand that started in England. The creator, Natasha Dillon, would rub handpicked botanicals and flower oils from her grandmother’s garden into her skin to protect it from the dry air. Fast-forward to much later when Natasha decided to create a line of nail products without harsh chemicals that would nourish, strengthen and hydrate nails and cuticles. The line “Kur” was born and now there are nail shades as well. Inside the nail treatments in the Kur line you will find rapeseed flower oil, chamomile, cucumber and other essential oils.
Both the Kur line and Lakur line are cruelty free, vegan and gluten free, as well as free from the nasty big five chemicals (Formaldehyde, Toulene, DBP, Formaldehyde and Camphor).
There are currently about 16 nail colors available and I’ve got a couple of them for ya.
Thames from the Eye is a soft kind of muted blue creme. It starts off rather thin and a bit watery but after three thin coats covers nicely. It’s a pretty subdued blue.
Purple Reign is a vivid royal purple with hidden silver shimmer. In fact I had no idea this had shimmer until I downloaded my photos and saw it. Does this bother me? No way! This color is so pretty. It’s intense, saturated and had a great creamy formula that covers in two coats. The hidden shimmer is just a small added bonus for me.
Overall: I am impressed with what I have seen so far. I think both shades are nice, but Purple Reign is the stand-out in terms of interesting shade and formula. I also have the Restorative Nail Cream in the Kur line to try out still, so I’ll keep you posted about that. The pricing for the amount might be tough for some people to swallow, since it’s not exactly inexpensive.
Availability: Londontown’s site (available in US and elsewhere).
Pricing: $22.00 for .04 oz.
What do you think about these shades? Would you pay this much for a shade you loved?
