FINALLY someone came out with my now holy grail, easy-as-pie brow fiber gel that works fantastically! Benefit Gimmie Brow comes in two shades Light/Medium and Medium/Deep and I am in love with it!
Ok so my first encounter with this stuff was about 10 days ago. I went to the Benefit Brow Bar to get my brows trimmed and shaped, and asked if they had it because I had heard about it. She used the Light/Medium shade on me and I was immediately smitten.
Gimmie Brow is water-resistant, long-wearing, natural looking and buildable.
See how teeny tiny the wand is? That’s the best part! It’s so super small that you can really get in your brows and define a shape that isn’t too thick or “fuzzy” looking. That is my #1 issue with all other brow fillers in this style. The wand is way too large for my thinner/finer brows, and it winds up looking like a gloppy, undefined mess.
The shade I tried is Light/Medium which is the perfect cool-toned taupe.
The other shade is Medium/Dark which is a deeper cool-toned brown.
Doesn’t it look natural but still defined? It so easy to use. All you do is press the tip of the brush in short motions across your brows to define the shape. Then comb it out to blend and build them up. You can easily go over and over to make them thicker looking if you want.
I didn’t experience any of that weird fuzzy look at all. My brows look defined, filled in nicely and more natural than using a brush and powder. But don’t get me wrong, this isn’t really a replacement for that type of look. This does define to a point, but you can’t get a super sharp look with this. For that you would want a brush/powder or pencil.
But for someone like me, whose least favorite thing to do for a basic face is the brows, this is a life saver. I pretty much look like a space alien if I don’t fill in my light, sparse brows but get so annoyed that I have to all the time. Also I have to frequently wash my brow brush to keep the edge nice and crisp. With this it takes a minute and blam, the space alien look is buh bye!
Overall: Well I think it’s pretty obvious I love this stuff. I love the very small brush, it’s so helpful. I love the shade, this is the kind of cool-toned shade I always want my brows to be. And it lasts all day with no fading or flaking off. The downside would maybe be it’s not super inexpensive for the amount, but for me it’s worth it. This is great for those looking for a quick easy defined shape without a SUPER defined, crisp (sometimes very obviously fake) look.
Pricing: $22.00 for 0.3 oz.
