Nails Inc. Leather Effect Nail Polish in Dalston and Old Compton Street are two of the five new shades at Sephora with this leather-like textured finish.
Naturally I was highly intrigued because I looooove textured polish right now and I loooooove leather (and fake leather) as well!
The current shades include: Clerkenwell (buff), Ladbroke Grove (pink coral), Dalston (pale blue), Old Compton Street (grey) and Noho (black), which I previously reviewed as a set they had. I HIGHLY recommend Noho if you love black and textured polish because it’s quite awesome.
I like that the caps all have a leather-like texture and look to them.
Dalston is a very cool-toned baby blue. I honestly didn’t expect that these would have a real leather-like look after reviewing Noho, but I still really like them. They aren’t as sandy or pebbled looking as say the OPI Liquid Sands. These have no sparkle in them either, they are flatter. This one was a little sheer so I used three thin coats. Great shade and I don’t think I have any textured polish this color yet.
Old Compton Street is a medium, cool-toned grey. This actually looks more like concrete to me. Incidentally, they have a new concrete finish as well which I will be reviewing soon! The color is a great grey though and I love me some grey nail polish. The formula was thicker with this one and it covered better. Just two coats.
Overall: These dry quickly as most textured polishes do. I wish somehow they looked and felt more like actual leather than a regular grainy texture polish, but I still think they are cool. Both of these shades are great but I think Dalston is the most unique.
Availability: Sephora.
Pricing: $11.00 for 0.33 oz.
What do you think about these two? Are you into the leather effect or passing?
