Milani Retro Glam is a new limited edition collection coming to select CVS and Mejier stores this August.
Retro Glam features five soft pretty shades (two are shimmery) with a black and white glitter top coat called Sprinkles. Sprinkles has a clear base so it really looks great over all over these. I am not usually one that loves these kinds of glitter top coats, but for some reason this one with these shades just totally works. It has various sizes and shapes of both white and black chunks, as well as some black bar glitter. I do wish it didn’t have the bar glitter, but it still looks good with them all!
As far as formula some of these were a bit streaky on me with two coats. A third coat helps cut that down. Sprinkles has a pretty nice formula, it doesn’t wipe away glitter as you apply a second coat. Also if you only want to use one, you get a good amount of glitter going on. Sometimes the larger chunks wind up in weird places, so you have to kind of scoot them around to where you want them.
Strawberry Shake is a light pink with subtle silvery shimmer. It’s a wee bit streaky on me with two coats.
Almond Bliss is a pale almond creme. Can I just say that I LOVE this shade? We hardly ever see colors like this and I am completely sold on it even though it’s a bit streaky. I think it looks super classy and unusual. This is the one I like the least with Sprinkles because I just want to wear it by itself.
Creamy Pistachio is a very pretty pistachio green creme. I adore this shade by itself as well, so pretty. The formula was less streaky with this one and I love the way it looks with Sprinkles.
Raspberry Delight is a bright medium pink with subtle silvery shimmer. By itself this is a really fun and bright shade, not that streaky. With Sprinkles over it, it looks fabulous. Love this combo.
Mint Chip is a medium mint green creme. This one seemed thinner and I also had some streaky issues with the two coats I used, but three probably would have helped. Love the way this one looks with Sprinkles. I think I like it better with Sprinkles than without.
Overall: Cute collection! I think the most interesting shades here are Almond Bliss and Creamy Pistachio (and Sprinkles). The pinks don’t seem unique but they do look good with the top coat.
Availability: Limited edition out in August at select CVS and Mejier stores.
