Guess what? This is my first ever Cirque post and I’m extremely happy about it! This is one of THE indie brands I’ve been wanting to try out for awhile and now I have the chance.
A little info about the brand: This nail lacquer is made in New York and is hand-blended in small batches by Annie Pham. She wanted to start Cirque to offer people more unique nail shades using raw materials and unusual pigments. It’s all 3-free and contains high quality essential oils like lavender and clary sage which leaves your hands with a subtle natural scent.
The Cirque Dark Horse collection, which is her debut collection, includes holographic and glittery nail lacquer shades and I have five of them for you today.
Never Nude is a champagne/gold nude with rainbow holographic shimmer. This is a very soft looking shade, but the holo shimmer is really intense. Excellent formula, very smooth and easy to apply evenly. This was two coats.
Vaudeville is a lavender with gold and fine turquoise sparkles. This is such a unique pretty shade! It’s really feminine and soft looking but the gold and turquoise sparkle really makes it amazing. It’s hard to see the turquoise shimmer in this pic but it’s definitely there. Great formula, a little on the thinner side. This was three thin coats.
Fascination Street is an intense indigo with rainbow holographic glitter. WOW. Super rich and super holographic looking. It also has an excellent formula being really smooth and opaque in just two coats. It applied itself practically. So pretty.
French Roast is a super glittery bronze micro-glitter with gold and copper glitter. This glittery shade has a clear base, but it’s so packed with goodies it’s basically full coverage with three coats. I think this one is rather unique as well. The formula is a bit harder to work with because it’s VERY thick and so you definitely must wait a bit in-between coats so it doesn’t get gloopy on ya. I love that it’s great by itself but would also look freaking amazing over a brown creme! Love me some copper/bronze shades.
Dark Horse is a black micro-glitter with sparkly multi-colored glitter. This one also is in a clear base but nearly full coverage with three coats. Well maybe four. I used three here and I have some areas that aren’t as fully covered as others. This one also is harder to work with than the first three but super pretty! You must wait in-between coats and also shake it up a lot in-between each coat to make sure you get lots of glitter on the wand. Very sparkly!
Overall: My first time trying this brand out was a great success I think! I know this might be a weird thing, but I really love the label and her logo. I think it just makes everything extra good. The colors are unique and beautiful, and the formula is really good as well.
And stay tuned because I have a few more collections coming up from Cirque!
