Tomorrow might be the first day of summer officially, but today is my first fall 2013 post!
The Deborah Lippmann Punk Rock Collection was previewed at the Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week and was inspired by the Grimms’ fairy tales inspired fashion of designer Lela Rose.
These aren’t just regular cremes or shimmer, they are textured and matte, which as you know, is super on-trend right now. I for one was really excited to try these out and I am really pleased with them. In fact, I think they are all totally awesome because I love textured polish still and I adore these unique shades.
Pretty Vacant, I Fought The Law, I Wanna Be Sedated
Pretty Vacant
Pretty Vacant (song by The Sex Pistols) is a “ghost grey” as she calls it. Love it, it actually reminds me of slightly mixed up concrete with the gritty texture! Super cool and two coats.
I Wanna Be Sedated
I Wanna Be Sedated (song by The Ramones) is a mustard yellow/green shade. It’s one of those “ugly/pretty” shades and of course I am completely in love with it. It’s just badass, plain and simple. You’ll love it or hate it. Two coats.
I Fought The Law
I Fought The Law (song originally by the Bobby Fuller Four and redone by The Clash) is a super dark navy blue with light blue sparkles. This is a really interesting shade because it combines texture, matte and sparkles all at once! Very cool and again, just two coats.
Overall: I truly love every one of these. I think these shades are really cool looking with the textured finish and each one was a shade/finish combination I haven’t seen before. They all were just two coats and dried rather quickly. Amazing collection!
Availability: July 2013 at Nordstrom, DeborahLippmann.com, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus.
Pricing: $19.00.
What do you think about this collection? Do you love I Wanna Be Sedated or is it not your thing?
