Why hello there gentle reader.
It’s been awhile since I did an updated post about some of my favorite nail products. So what better time than now?
Dreams D’s Calcium
This is a very recent discovery I made and so far I am really liking. Dreams Cosmetics D’s Calcium is a calcium treatment for weak or growth-challenged nails. You just apply one coat either by itself or under a nail polish as a base coat. I like it because it’s a little white and milky, so it makes nails looks shiny and healthy. It dries quickly and my nails could always use some help with being stronger.
Nubar Diamont Top Coat
With the exception of when they changed the formula and it was awful for a bit, Nubar Diamont has been my favorite top coat for 3 or 4 years now. It’s like the best thing on earth! For me it dries the quickest, is super glossy, doesn’t get scratches easily, doesn’t shrink around the edges and self-levels. I mean what more can one ask for? Oh yeah, it would be nice if it was easier to get. Ordering from Nubar’s site isn’t so great because their shipping prices are fairly outrageous. Try Harlow and Co.
Every nail blogger has a secret weapon for clean-up and I think most probably have one or two tiny craft brushes hanging around. They make perfect clean-up tools because they’re super small and thin so they get into tiny areas around your nails and cuticles easily. Plus they are super inexpensive so ruining them isn’t a big deal. I get mine from Michael’s Craft Store and they are between $3-5.00.
Badger Balm Soothing Shea Butter Cuticle Care
Lately I am in LOVE with this stuff! I did a full review awhile back but now I am using it more than even my beloved LUSH Lemony Flutter! Ok I like Lemony Flutter but noticed one particular thing which might only affect me (or those with fluffy animals)…cat hair sticks ALL over my fingers when I use it! I mean it’s kind of insane how bad it gets. If I apply it before bed, which is my norm since it’s rather greasy, and then I pull the covers over me, fuggedaboutit. But with the Badger Balm stuff I do not have that issue. It is a little “balm-y” feeling, but not greasy or sticky. And then the “balm-y” feeling goes away quickly as it absorbs and my nail area feels soft and nice. Plus the scent is a bit better (less Band-aid, more lemon) than Lemony Flutter and it’s less expensive.
Fortune Cookie Whipped Cream
I’ve talked about this stuff time and time again in the last couple years and I still love it. I have many of the different scents and they are all spectacular. Some that I have are Cupcake, Caramel Apple, Honey-Dew Me, Pinky Swear, Blueberry Flap Jacks, Candy Cane Fluff, and In The Loop. Before bed I scoop out a big dollop and gleefully sniff it and rub it into my hands. So delicious, soft and yummy!
