Stila After Glow Lip Color is a new limited edition lip balm/stain that comes six shades.
These come in a twist-up fat pencil form that doesn’t need sharpening. The colors are bright and summery but here is something I’ll bet you don’t expect – they are packed with fluorescent pigments that make them glow in the dark when exposed to UV light! Kind of a gimmicky thing and since my clubbing days are over, I really don’t care about that, but some people might like it. 🙂
They apply really easily and have a satin-like texture. They are buildable and leave a stain on the lips when they wear off. They have a bit of shine, not super glossy though. No scent or taste.
Festive Fuchsia, Party Pink, Tangerine Dream, Vivid Violet
Tangerine Dream, Vivid Violet, Party Pink, Festive Fuchsia
Tangerine Dream is a bright tangerine orange. I found this one to be the most “even” on my lips in terms of blotchy areas and/or settling into lip lines.
Vivid Violet is a medium violet. This isn’t as bright as you might think, it’s actually kind of subdued I think.
Party Pink is a medium warm pink. A little blotchy but not too bad.
Festive Fuchsia is a cool fuchsia pink. It’s bright but not crazy bright.
Overall: I like them but don’t love them. I was hoping they were a little more pigmented, even and vivid. While they are on the colorful side I wanted MAJOR color. They do have a nice texture and feel light and easy to wear. No scent or taste that I noticed. I like that they are buildable, but wish they were a bit less patchy. Also I wish they were around $10.00!
The shade selections slightly vary according to if you are looking at Stila’s site or Sephora’s. On Sephora’s site there is one called Electric Pink that isn’t on Stila’s, and on Stila’s site there is one called Rave Red that isn’t offered at Sephora.
Pricing: $18.00 for 0.10 oz.
