Milani has a slew of new Color Statement Lipstick and Lipliners out for us this spring and I’ve got all the new ones in the orange and red category. Which you know, is perfect for a certain upcoming day…
These new True Instant Color Lipsticks come in thirty (!) new shades and in vinyl, cream, metallic, shimmer, pearl and matte finishes. They have a full coverage formula and contain vitamins A, C & E to help moisturize your lips. The Lipliners come in eight new shades, are long-wearing, and have a soft formula so they don’t tug on your lips.
Sweet Nectar, Orange-Gina, High Voltage, Red Label, Cherry Crave, Best Red, Ruby Valentine
Sweet Nectar is a bright orange cream.
Orange-Gina is a warm orange pearl.
High Voltage is a shiny bright red vinyl.
Red Label is a bright red cream.
Cherry Crave is a cherry red metallic.
Best Red is a bright matte red.
Ruby Valentine is a cool red vinyl.
So here’s the scoop on these. They are very saturated and intense shades. Some of the reds are very similar to each other in color, but differ in finish. I really love the cream and vinyl ones the best, but the matte is nice also, not too drying. The metallic and pearl shades are the most different from the rest in terms of finish.
One thing to note about these lipsticks is they have a certain smell and taste…melon! Kind of strange but it’s not that strong, and does go away after a bit.
Nude, True Red
Nude is a pink/brown shade, great for a wide variety of lipstick shades.
True Red is a bright red and works with all these red shades here. Great classic shade.

Overall: I really like the texture of these and the saturation is really good. They feel moisturizing and very comfortable on my lips. The Lipliners are great also because they are really universal shades that will go with tons of lipstick shades. The one thing you may not like is the smell/taste of the lipsticks if you are sensitive to that kind of thing. The Lipliners don’t have a smell or taste.
As far as packaging these feel and look nice. They have a super shiny gold finish and the bottom is clear so you can see the actual shade inside. The Lipliners are colored with the exact shade inside as well.
Availability: Milani’s website, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Kmart.
Pricing: $5.49.
Now that you’ve seen ’em, which are your favs? Do you wear orange or red lipstick often or save it for special occasions?

Wow! Red overload! I’m interested in some of the more neutral shades. Will have to check them out.
Sweet Nectar & Orange-GIna look great! I’m definitely a sucker for orange lipstick, so now I’m going to have to pick these up! I wear red occasionally, but mainly in autumn or around Christmas.
Wow, seems like a comprehensive line!! I’ve never tried any Milani products, but I’m liking High Voltage and Sweet Nectar!

I love red lipstick, so I’m happy to see more drugstore red lipsticks around 🙂 Thanks for the swatches!
I’m in heaven! Red lipsticks are my favorite! I’ll be haunting the drugstore even more from now on. 🙂

They all look really nice! I do wear orangey colours but not plain orange on the lips. I do not know if it’s my screen, but I do not see much difference among the last four shades.
Yeah like I mentioned the color change is subtle, it’s really the finish where there is more of a difference in those ones.
Oh my gosh love love love! OK so I definitely only need one or two of these, but beauuutiful. Milani’s looking like the drugstore Chanel with all these variations of red! And the nude lip liner reminds me of Boots Nude, from the photos at least. Which is a great basic shade

Ahh, they all look great! lol I wear sheer reds often but I save the bold ones for special occasions.
I’d love to know what you’re wearing on your eyes in these pictures–it’s beautiful!
One of the iridescent eyeshadows from the Urban Decay Glinda Palette and a black NARS liner. 🙂
Hmmm…if I had to pick I would choose….High Voltage just because of a Linkin Park song. Gosh I’m a nerd!

I seriously can’t choose which red looks best on you. They all look stunning on you!!! and the texture is beautiful
I thought the smell was kind of cucumber-ish rather than melon. Either way, I like it, and I’m liking the nude shade I picked up (think it was Teddy Bared).
I like that background in the first pictures. Is that new?
Not my colors but they look fantastic on you!
I have a bunch of background papers I use from time to time 🙂
Hi, I love your website!!
This post, girl you don’t know! You’re putting me through something. LOL. I want all of them so bad. The texture, it looks creamy/silky smooth. The pigmentation is everything!!! My favorite one is Sweet Nectar and everything else is second. Lol. Me want nao!!
Did I mention great post and pics? No, okay, great post and pics! :3

I really like these, but I agree, even with the finish differences I find it a little hard to tell all the reds apart! Here’s a silly question– what is a vinyl finish on a lipstick?! It looks like maybe it’s a shiny matte? I don’t know!
Anyway, these all look great and I wish Milani was carried by more drugstores in my area!! I haven’t tried any Milani products before, but these look like a lot of fun and I am having a huge lippy craze right now.

Well I’m not sure what they classify it as, but it seems shinier and slipperier than the others.
That first orange lipstick is gorgeous on you
Those colors looks so lovely on you! I’ve tried the older Milani lipsticks and was not a fan. These new ones look a little more promising and the color selection is better. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Great swatches!
The reds are lovely, but they do look so similar.. I think I’ll have to try and get my hand on Ruby Valentine- the Vinyl finish looks cool and I love the name!
I also love the packaging on these- the colours on the ends with the names are fantastic for me – I store all my lipsticks upright so a coloured bottom is super 😀
Dude. I need ALL of these except Red Label and Orange-Gina (because I own both of those already)! WOW!!! Red is my favorite shade of lippie to wear so I’m thrilled to see these! Also LOVING Sweet Nectar – so bright and beautiful! 😀
My local CVS has set up the permanent display for these lippies but has yet to stock it. Needless to say I will be stalking CVS until I can get my hands on these pretties! 😀 I’m also Psyched to get the True Red lip liner! <3 AWESOME lip swatches as always! <3
I love Milani so much, I hate them!!! Lol. Gorgeous shades!
Love sweet nectar!

Thanks for commenting on the smell, which makes these a no-buy and saves me some money!
I’ll take melon over what their old smell was! Eww
