NCLA has a new fall collection out called From Dusk Till Dawn that consists of four new shades.
I found the formula to be a bit strange with these. For some reason with the first coat of all of them they seemed really sparse and streaky. As though I wasn’t getting enough polish on the brush, but I thought I was. But after the second coat they all evened out and became opaque. They all wound up being just two coats in the end!
As a reminder, NCLA are big three-free, Camphor free and cruelty free.
Dirty Martini is a dusky olive green (or avocado) creme. Great shade, right up my alley. This was two thin coats.
Rock Solid is a grey/taupe base with heavy silver glitter. This is actually a fairly unique shade for me, which is kind of shocking. I can’t think of another just like it at the moment. It does look a little bit chunky as some of the glitter flakes seems to settle into the bottom of the polish. But it doesn’t all do that, so you do still see a lot of silver glitter. You will need a thicker top coat if you want it to be completely smooth.
Without Me, There Is No VIP!
Without Me, There Is No VIP! is a deep wine red/purple with multi-colored micro glitter. Hmmm I’m not sold on this one. The shade itself is nice enough, it looks very much like a rich wintery shade. However the glitter tends to settle into the polish too much making it just look lumpy.
Call Me For The After Party
Call Me For The After Party is a deep metallic blue with subtle purple shimmer. This is a really nice jewel-toned blue and really creamy formula. Not sure it’s all that original, but it’s pretty nonetheless.
Overall: I liked Dirty Martini and Rock Solid the most personally. As far as the most unique shade I would say it’s probably Rock Solid. I liked that they were just two coats, but they are on the expensive side for sure!
