Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain+Balm is a new product that currently comes in 15 shades. Update: I’ve heard these aren’t new though they were in the new area of my Rite Aid…maybe these are new shades?
These two-in-one stains feature a felt tip like pen stain on one end and a clear, yet shiny balm on the other end. You basically draw them onto your lips, let the stain dry for about 30 seconds, then apply the clear balm on top for added shine and moisture.
Seems pretty straightforward right? Yes and no. I did have some issues with a couple of these. It could be due to my notoriously dry lips, or just the colors I chose. One worked perfectly though so it makes me think maybe it was the colors…
Back to front: Flame, Victorian, Instinct
Instinct, Victorian, Flame
So a couple interesting things about these. On my hand they bleed into lines quite a bit, but they didn’t do that on my lips at all. Another thing to note about the texture is they felt a bit watery and they apply patchy. If your lips have any wetness on then at all (maybe closer to the inside of your mouth) they will not come off evenly at all. I had issues with this with two of them especially. These swatches above are quite a few passes to get them even and not watery.
Instinct is a light nude/brown/pink shade. Blech! On me it looks awful and the texture wasn’t so great either. It applied uneven and makes my lips look dirty or something.
Victorian is a medium rose pink. On my lips it comes off a bit more red than I expected from the hand swatch. Nice shade, but again, you can see especially on my lower lip that it’s very uneven.
Flame is a bright red. Now THIS one worked great! It came off much more even and didn’t settle into lines and dry areas. It did take a few swipes to get it totally even all over my lips, but much better than the other two. I love the color also.
Overall: Here is what I like. I like the packaging and they do feel fairly moisturizing with the balm. The balm gives them a good shine, and they definitely stain your lips after the initial color wears off. But I wasn’t thrilled with how two of the shades were so uneven. Flame was the only one of these that I really loved.
Availability: Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens.

Have you tried any of these? If so which shades, and did they work better for you?
