Have you heard of GlamNatural? They are the makers of GlamNatural Hydrating Foundation, which is a vegan, gluten, paraben and cruelty free product! Also made in the U.S.A.
In fact, they actually have a “BodySafe” criteria which promises the following:
What is also different about this foundation compared to most others is that there is no water in the formulation. This makes it super concentrated so you only need a very small amount, about a dime size.
The foundation comes in 6 shades: Ivory 1 & 2, Beige 1 & 2 and Bronze 1 & 2.
It comes in a nice black velvet bag, which is a nice touch.
The bottle size is 1 oz, fully recyclable, and it has an airless pump style applicator. It feels pretty controlled so you don’t wind up getting too much product.
At first I thought this shade may be too dark for me, but as they mention, since it’s concentrated, it might appear too dark at first. After I put it on my face it definitely was the right shade.
The formula is medium-to-full coverage, and it is build-able. It doesn’t feel too heavy like you might think a concentrated foundation might (or at least I did). It doesn’t look dewy or matte, kind of middle of the road. There are only six ingredients in it!
- Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)
- Dimethicone* (food contact grade)
- Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower Oil)
- Rhus Verniciflua Peel Wax (Berry Wax)
- Vitis Vinifera (Grape Seed Oil)
- Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil)
- Iron Oxides (C177491,77492, 77499)
- Titanium Dioxide (CL77891)
I wore it for about a week straight and can tell you I really liked it. It never felt greasy or heavy by middle or end of the day. It lasted really nicely for 8-10 hours with just a touch up on nose/chin/forehead once a day.
The one thing it didn’t do, which I was hoping (though most foundations don’t) is help blur and conceal my pores. But I normally have to use a primer underneath anyway, so that’s what I did with this as well.
Also something to note is that there isn’t any SPF in it. I do like SPF in my foundation but I always wear a moisturizer with SPF underneath anyway because A. I like moisture and B. You don’t really wear enough foundation (or shouldn’t) to qualify as having the proper amount to protect against the sun anyway, so a moisturizer with SPF underneath is always a good plan.
Availability: GlamNatural Makeup website.
Pricing: $65.00 for 1 oz. Now I realize that is not inexpensive at all, but you only need a small amount so it should last quite awhile.
Is a foundation being vegan, gluten & paraben free important to you?
