Essie Resort is a new 4 piece collection created so that you could “discover your inner Hollywood starlet.”
Essie Weingarten wanted to inspire women to bring out their inner glamour and get you to come out and play with these fun shades. This collection was inspired by Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly.
The formula, as with the vast majority of Essie polishes, was spot on. Not too thick or thin. Not too sheer, and all perfect in 2-3 coats.
Pink-A-Boo
Pink-A-Boo is a sheer-ish baby pink with iridescent micro glitter. So pretty! The glitter is mostly blue and pink, and it definitely makes this one special. Without it it would just be a standard pale pink shade. I used three coats to get it completely opaque and I love the way it looks. It is very similar to Jessica Rolling Rose. In fact, just looking at photos of them I would say they are basically dupes except a slight variation in the shimmer color, which is subtle.
She’s Picture Perfect
She’s Picture Perfect is a picture perfect lilac shimmer. My heart beats faster when I see these kinds of colors because I love them so much. The shimmer is blue and pink. Ugh, perfection. This one was a tiny bit thick so use thinner coats and wait a bit in-between each one. I used two coats here and did the second one too soon which left me with a thick area on my middle finger. Otherwise it’s perfect!
Sure Shot
Sure Shot is a bright magenta shimmer. The shimmer is a hot pink shade, which makes this baby glow! Very pretty color for summer, great formula. This was two coats.
No More Film
No More Film is a deep violet creme. Very deep. It almost leans blue, but it really is more violet. Nice vampy shade. I like dark shades like this, but maybe it’s not that unique.
Overall: Great collection. I really like that Essie doesn’t put out HUGE collections because sometimes I feel like the companies that do, put out a lot of boring repeated colors. These are all colors I really like and definitely would wear. My favorites two were She’s Picture Perfect and Pink-A-Boo.
Availability: Ulta, Zappos, drugstores.
Pricing: $8.00.
How are you feeling Essie Resort? Anything here you NEED? 😉

Pink-a-boo reminds me of NOPI Kim-pletely in Love. These are all super femme and pretty, though!!
I bought Pink-a-Boo and She’s picture perfetc and I love them!!
I have a lot of soft pinks, but this is very different, packed with shimmer! Not boring at all!
I find that the shimmer I see in the bottle of She’s picture Perfect doen’t translate so much in my nails… Well Ilike it anyway! Both gorgeous!!
Beautiful sewatches! I can imagine you wearing all this colors with your skin tone!
I’ve had Sure Shot for a little while now, and it’s not normally a color I would reach for in the store but it is now one of my favorites. The color was just so amazing and SO easy to apply…I’ve been wanting to put it on my nails again but I have too many colors untried right now! haha
I have She’s Picture Perfect and No More Film, but have only worn She’s Picture Perfect. After seeing your swatches, I’m definitely going to wear No More Film next. LOVE!
Wow! Those polishes really come to life on your nails. And here I was thinking that nothing new could be done with pale pink polish; Pink-a-Boo proved me wrong.

I bought Pink-a-Boo and No More Film the other day. Now that I’ve seen your swatches I’m going to pick up the other two.

I haven’t bought polish in awhile as I’m trying to cut down, but I feel like I need 3 out of the 4 of these!
I’m buying Pink-A-Boo. I’ve been eyeing the display at Target, but couldn’t decide if it was unique enough to buy another pink.

I’m so happy I don’t like any of these— I’m on a “no-buy” and I’m holding out for the Essie neons that are on the way!

I love this collection; I have everything except for Sure Shot. I especially love Pink-a-Boo; it is a little sheer for my tastes but I think I have the perfect underwear in Essie Raise Awareness. Last year I was a little underwhelmed, but so far in 2012 Essie has been really turning it on for me!
I…NEED “She’s Picture Perfect”!!!!!!!!!! soooooooooooooo pretty!!!!!
I have No More Film and She’s Picture Perfect. I love Essie, the only nail polish brand I wear!
She’s Picture Perfect is so pretty! Gotta keep my eyes open for that one. I juts bought Essie’s Action which is a bright orange fun color.

Oh, my heart skipped a little when I scrolled to She’s Picture Perfect too! LOL! I am definately buying this as soon as I see it around town. I may also get No More Film too! I have broken my rule about purchasing polish online once I saw your favorite Pinks! I bought two through Ebay!!! LOL But I don’t this I should hold out an purchasing these, I imagine that they will go fast!
No More Film is practically identical to OPI Roadhouse Blues, the only difference I could tell was No More Film was more opaque.

I LOVE She’s Picture Perfect! It’s such a gorgeous color on you! Weirdly enough, Pink-a-boo caught my eye too. I’m not usually drawn to this type of color but I think it is great!

Picked up Pink-A-Boo because Jessica doesn’t have an SSL (but found out later it’s fine since you can use PayPal…) anyway, I would also pick up the purple one! So brilliant!
Love ’em all except “No More Film’ is one of those that is only for the wearer to know what’s in it. In almost all lighting it turns black and reveals a lean of purple. I have far too many deep dark shades in my stash that no one but me knows what’s in them because they all read black or just deep dark something. I really love Pink-A -Boo and will have fun with it making jelly sandwiches.
Must…get…She’s Picture Perfect!!! : )

She’s Picture Perfect looks very pretty and spring-like. 🙂 All of these colours look lovely on you, though.

Nice! She’s Picture Perfect is a dream.
I don’t know how it happened, but I went from rarely ever being interested in nail polish to finding your blog and slowly filling up an entire drawer full of colors. It’s not a huge drawer, but it’s decent-sized and I really don’t have much more room for any other colors, yet I want the first two Essies.
Vampy, you’ve created a monster! What I want to know is how you keep the skin around your nails and the nails themselves healthy. I was wearing a new color every few days and I just couldn’t do it anymore. Everything was so parched and I was getting hangnails galore.
Could you do a post on how to keep nails, cuticles and the skin around the nails healthy?
Hi Taryn,
I actually have done a couple posts about that, here you go!

I am definitely loving She’s Picture Perfect; such a pretty color.
I already have Sure Shot and love it, but your swatch has persuaded me that I need to pick up Pink-a-Boo and Picture Perfect. Those are both amazing spring colours and they need to be part of my growing collection!
LOVE Sure Shot!!! Have been wearing it since they came out… and get a million compliments! Your camera did a great job of photographing it’s awesomeness! Such an amazing color…. in fact, a friend saw it in my bathroom and tried to steal it away! ha. It’s steal-able!
Sure Shot is kind of stunning.
