Have you ever used a “Shower Jelly” before? I certainly hadn’t until I tried Lush’s The Jilted Elf, which is a holiday special of theirs.
This was inspired by a New York City created fig, honey and vodka cocktail. The scents in The Jilted Elf include cinnamon and ginger and the jelly itself contains gold sparkles!
To use it is a little strange. It comes tightly packed in it’s container, like a food jelly does. It kind of reminds me of canned cranberry sauce! 😉
To get some out you just kind of dig into it with your fingers, scoop some out and start lathering up!
Actually it’s not quite that easy. It’s easy to get it out, but if you aren’t careful, you risk it slithering out of your hands and down the drain! Also it takes a little while to build up a lather.
I don’t love the spicy-ish scent but am not turned off by it either. I do like that even though it’s got gold sparkles, they don’t wind up on your skin.
I found that it rinsed clean, left no residue and worked pretty well, though I still prefer a bar soap style personally.
If you like showering with this type of thing and like spicy scents you just may love this!
Pricing: $5.95 for 3.5 oz or $10.95 for 8.5 oz.
