One of the fanciest eye shadow palettes I have seen in recent memory is the Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eye Shadow Palette this fall from LORAC. Underneath the fine black lace pattern is a silvery glittery base color. So fun!
Inside you will find six matte and baked shimmer eye shadows that can be used wet or dry.
There are no color names in this palette, which is ok, I can handle that because they are really quite nice!
#1 – First we have a shimmery pale vanilla white color.
#2 – Next is a medium deep smokey grey with slight shimmer. They called this a matte color on Sephora’s site, but to me it’s not a true matte.
#3 – The only true matte in the palette is a dark black, really good pigmentation.
#4 – Then there is a shimmery, super opaque peach metallic.
#5 – Up next is a gorgeous warm opaque bronze metallic.
#6 – And finally we have a medium coffee colored brown shimmer. This is also called a matte, but again, I don’t consider it one.
I was very pleased with how opaque and soft these shadows are. Even the black matte shadow was really nice and not patchy, which is hard to find sometimes! My favorite three colors are the last ones though, really beautiful colors.
I also like that there are three cool tones and three warm tones in here so you can create a variety of looks with just six colors.
