Hello and welcome to two fabulous Hi-Design Eye Colours from Jemma Kidd for fall 2011. 🙂
Jemma Kidd, which is sold at Target, offers some really nice high-end type products
sold at Target prices. Oh wait, what I meant to say was high-end products sold at high-end prices. Well maybe not Dior pricing, but certainly more than you might expect at Target. But are they worth it?
First off let’s talk packaging. SO cute. I don’t know why, but I love the way these little see-through plastic shadows look and feel. I think what makes them really fun for me is the pink band of color around them. I dunno, I just really like the way they look and the satisfying click they make when you close them.
The shadows themselves are really nice. They have a raised pattern of the “JK” initials on them which makes them look cool but they don’t initially feel super soft because of that texture. But they are in fact really soft once you kind of break the initial print down, and they have really, really nice pigmentation as well.
Stylised is a deep metallic evergreen.
Trend is a medium metallic sea blue.
Both colors are really pretty and ones I would wear, but I especially think Stylised is really gorgeous.
But are they worth the price? If I was in say Nordstrom, and saw these colors and the price I would probably pay for Stylised but not Trend. For me it would have to be a color I REALLY fell for to pay that much. And that’s in a department store. But if I was at Target, where you expect things to generally be much less expensive, I might have a hard time paying even for Stylised.
Great packaging and really great shadows overall BUT the pricing is just too high for where it’s being sold in my eyes.
Pricing: $16.00 each.
What do you think about these colors and the price? If you truly fell for a color at Target, would you fork over the $$ for it?
