MAC’s newest launch isn’t a new color collection but rather something extremely convenient and cool.
MAC Sized To Go features 1 oz travel sized containers of some of their best selling skincare products, a few of which I use on a regular basis in the full size.
- Fix + ($10)
- Cleanse Off Oil (Tranquil) ($10)
- Cleanse Off Oil ($10)
- Pro Eye Makeup Remover ($10)
- Demi-Wipes ($15)
- Oil Control Lotion ($15)
- Green Gel Cleanser ($10)
- Strobe Cream ($15)
- Studio Moisture ($15)
I am a recent convert to the Pro Eye Makeup Remover. I love it because it’s non-oily so you can use it for touch ups while doing your makeup and not have to worry about applying makeup right over it. No bleeding or weird things happen with your makeup because it’s not oily at all. Love that!
I have also been using the regular sized MAC wipes for awhile, mainly for when I am swatching., These wipes are brilliant, they smell great and wipe off every trace of makeup with no drying of the skin or stinging to the eyes.
Strobe Cream is a product I have been wanting to try forever but never bit the bullet to purchase the large sized one. Now that I have the travel size, I tried it out and really like it. I used it as a highlighter rather than all over my face, and it gives off a really nice subtle glow. It’s not as scary as the name implies, which is good. 🙂
Another item in this set that I have wanted to try for all of eternity but never did was Fix +. I have heard raves about this but then also heard it was just glorified water, so I was scared to buy a whole bottle. I used it for the first time yesterday over my makeup and it really IS nice! It left this nice dewy healthy finish to my face. Next up on my list is to try it under my foundation to see if it helps make it last longer.
The only caveat I see with one of these products are the Demi-Wipes. Usually when I use these types of containers, which only have a little sticker closing them, they tend to dry out. The difference between these Demi-Wipes and the regular ones are that the regular have plastic on the lid that snaps shut and keeps them really moist. I’m not sure that will happen with this container yet, but we shall see!
Overall:
Great concept and actually don’t know why they didn’t think of this sooner! This is not only a great way to take your favorite items along with you when you travel, but also a great way to try something you are unsure about without having to get the full sized container.
Availability: June 9th in North America, July International
What do you think about having travel sized products? Which are your favs here?

This is definitely great for those who want to sample a bunch of products or travel with them. I’ll be passing on these, though, because I already have trusty products that work really well.
Hi Mary,
Indeed, I could have used them last week! 🙂
OMG I so need these for traveling this summer.

Hi L,
Yes, yes you do 😉
I love travel sized products. They’re handy not only when I go on holiday somewhere, but I can carry them in my handbag everyday as well. And I also have a thing for all that is tiny and colored and perfumed… 🙂
Hi JenMei,
That’s a great idea to take them in your makeup bag on a daily basis. Handy for all sorts of reasons!
I don’t like the pricing of the travel sizes. Way expensive. It’s a shame; fix+ is a fave of mine, and I’d have liked it in a smaller size.

Hi Vijaya,
I agree the prices could have been a little less. But then again if you don’t like something and can’t return it for whatever reason, $10 is better than say $18!
I’ve been wanting the mini Strobe Cream but I heard that the mini will only be available in stand-along stores. Do you know if this is true?
Hi Jessi,
Yes only at MAC Stores I believe and online.
I am definitely picking up some of these for my trip next month! It’ll be awesome to have a mini Fix+, and I’ve always wanted to try the Strobe Cream!
i’m really excited to try the fix+

Oh, I want every last one of these! And not a MAC counter in 100 miles! sigh…
It’s a great idea, but the price is a biggie for me, by ounce the travel sizes on all the products aside from the Oil Control Lotion, the Strobe Cream, and the Studio Moisture Cream are more than double the price of the regular sized products. I can clearly see where this would be handy for traveling (especially on planes), but it would be much more cost effective to just buy the regular sized product and get those travel sized bottles at a drugstore.
This is such a great idea! All products that I would like to try but don’t particularly want to buy the full sizes, I’ll be getting this for my holiday in July! I am most excited to try the Fix+ and since I’m going to the south of France where I’m sure (hoping) It’ll be quite hot, it’ll be a great time to try it! It’s a shame we didn’t get it in the UK this month as then I’d be fully prepared for my hols!
I saw a review on another blog comparing the prices for the travel size and regular size products and the travel size is twice as much. Dont know it thats correct but the price is a big turn off for these products. Its probably worth more to just buy the regular sized ones and transfer it into a smaller bottle
Oh, I LOVE travel sizes- not so much for traveling, although they’re great for that, what with all of the airline restrictions and all, but I love them for the reason you Hannah do- I can try out something new without breaking the bank if I don’t like it! Many companies used to have smaller “trial” sizes- but they seem to have fallen from grace in the past 10 years. Paul Mitchell, Redken, Bumble and Bumble and a few other hair product companies are wise enough to still do them- and they’re smart! They know we want to carry stuff in our purses, gym bags, etc. Not to mention the fact that I’ll spend $30 on trial sizes of different products without batting an eye because I feel like I’m being a “smart shopper” for trying stuff out before committing to a full size product! (plus you get to play with lots of fun, new goodies- whee!) For actual travel though, unless it’s toothpaste or eyedrops, I usually fill a small bottle with product from a larger “home-based” bottle…
Erm, that should be “you AND Hannah do”… (thinking faster than I type again…)
