MAC Primed for Perfection is a small collection for spring 2011 that includes a new Vibrancy Eye Primer and three Prep & Prime Highlighters.
Vibrancy Eye Primer is a lightweight cream in a pump bottle that is meant to help with puffy eyes, creases, bags and dark under eye circles. It’s a pale pink color with a bit of luminosity to it, which helps brighten your under eye area. It’s also extremely moisturizing and smooth like butter.
The Prep & Prime Highlighters come in three shades:
Light Boost – Soft yellow cream
Bright Forecast – Mid-tone peachy coral
Radiant Rose – Light shell pink
These click-able pens are really quite handy and I love them. The colors are meant to help brighten and highlight your under eye area and are best when worn over the Vibrancy Eye primer.
Vibrancy Eye Primer
For me this stuff is like creamy gold! As you might know, I’m getting older and the fine lines are piling on top of each other in quite a rapid fashion now. Especially around my eyes. I have been using the MAC Fast Response Eye Creme (which I LOVE) and then a Bobbi Brown pink correcter on my under eye area for quite some time. I rarely use a concealer because I find most of them crease so fast and I cannot be bothered. Plus the more layers I add under my eye the quicker it creases and the more “crepe-y” I feel I look.
This stuff is like combining the Fast Response Creme and the Bobbi Brown pink correcter into one easy to use, less crease-y product. It really applies so smoothly and while it doesn’t really conceal very dark eye shadows, it helps brighten that whole area. It also prevents creasing VERY well on me. It’s not as thick as the Bobbi Brown correcter though, just as an FYI.
I really love it and it’s now an everyday product for me no question. The only issue I have with it is that the pump can give me too much product at a time, so it seems wasteful sometimes. It doesn’t always dispense the same amount either so sometimes it’s perfect and sometimes too much.

These highlighters come in a click style pen with a soft brush wand, which I adore. This for me is the easiest way to apply under eye products and I like how neat the packaging is. It does take a few times to get the product out and watch out, because I accidentally flooded the brush with one of them!
The two that work well on me are the Light Boost because it’s a good light yellow that counter-acts blue/purple circles and Radiant Rose, which is a light pink that again, adds more brightness.
Bright Forecast is too dark and coral for my skin, but I assume for the right skin tone it works as good as the others.
I have worn these over the Vibrancy Eye Primer about 5 or 6 times since I got them and can say I am having zero creasing issues. It’s a miracle!! Remember these aren’t actual concealers, so you won’t get the same coverage you would as with say MAC Studio Finish concealer or any other ones.

Using just Vibrancy Eye Primer under eye. See how it brightens and reflects light?
Overall:
For me these are great because I need the moisturizing and lightening effect that the Vibrancy Eye Primer gives me. I also love how it keeps the Prep & Prime pen color from settling into my fine lines. That is the #1 issue with me and concealers, I cannot find one that never settles. I have yet to try the Vibrancy Eye Primer with a different actual concealer, so that is yet to be determined!
Availability: MAC’s website
Pricing: $30 for Vibrancy Eye Primer and $23.00 for the pens
What do you think about these?

I was hoping that you would review these because I was wondering what they looked like on pale skin like mine. While I have always loved you for nail polish, your blog is my go-to for makeup swatches because of your skin tone, accurate swatches, and thoughtfully thorough reviews. I definitely want to get the Vibrancy Eye Primer! Thanks so much Kelly!
Hi Jessi,
Aww thanks! I am glad you find it helpful. I think you will like the Vibrancy Primer 🙂
Can’t try any MAC primers – I think they pretty much always contain bismuth oxychloride, which I’m allergic to. Correct me if I’m wrong.
(I like the colour of your eye shadow.)
Hi Mary,
Offhand I don’t know, I don’t ever look at ingredient lists because I’m not allergic to anything. I can find out for you though.
I cannot remember what I’m wearing in that pic it might be Inglot…
I have definitely been thinking about getting the Vibrancy Eye Primer, because I have the same problem about my under-eye concealer creasing on me. I look forward to hearing about how it works with different concealers! 🙂
I wish I’d seen your review before I ordered. I chose two colors based on reviews by people with a bit darker skintone. I can now tell I should have ordered the yellow rather than the orange. Yikes. Oh well, gives me something to look forward to! Great pics, as always.
These look really nice. I have super dark circles. I hate when the concealer creases. When it’s too dry it’s even worse. It’s hard to find the perfect one.
Great review.
I bought the vibrancy eye and the rose highlighter.
Regarding the vibrancy eye pump – you don’t have to depress the pump down fully.
If you only want a small amount then depress a fraction of the way down.
The vibrancy eye is fabulous for older skin. Brilliant !
