Nude lovers rejoice, now you have another option for a nude palette (as opposed to the now legendary Urban Decay Naked Palette) that has even more color options AND is less expensive! But is it a good alternative? Let’s check it out.
NYX Nude on Nude palette features twenty eyeshadows and ten lip glosses. That’s definitely a good amount of eyeshadow and it covers a nice range of colors. From ultra-pale white to black and every neutral type color in-between.
The lipglosses are all in the pink/nude/red range and have both cool and warm colors.
The palette itself comes in a sturdy feeling brown box that opens to a nice wide mirror. The lipglosses are in a secret pull-out drawer beneath the shadows. It also comes with some small plastic applicators, which I never use.
First five from top and bottom rows
First five from top row
These colors were very pale and not all that saturated except for the fourth one. I think these would show up on darker skin much better, but might look a bit chalky. Love that orange/copper one though!
First five from bottom row
With the exception of the first one, these were more saturated and showed up a lot better. The last one was a little patchy on me.
Last five from top and bottom rows
Last five from top row
Now we’re talkin! All of these were opaque and applied really easily. I wasn’t expecting that white to be so white and I love it. Also the last three colors are really nice as well.
Last five from bottom row
These five were better than the top row for the most part as well. The third and fourth colors are really gorgeous.
First five lipglosses
These are the cooler more pink colors of the lipglosses. I didn’t find any of them to be particularly saturated, and they all felt slightly sticky as well. Nice range of colors though.
Last five lipglosses
These are warmer more peach/reddish glosses. Same as the first ones, not a ton of color and slightly sticky.
I don’t think that this palette is a dupe for Naked, but it would be a decent substitute. The only issue I found is that the lighter colors tended to be not as pigmented as I would have liked and also a bit chalky feeling. The shimmery deeper ones were really quite nice. For the price though, I think it’s a really good deal and you certainly get a lot more for your money than you would with Naked. The glosses were nothing special but in a pinch could work.
