BB Couture has a new twelve piece nail lacquer collection out for spring 2011 called A Touch Of Greece. As per the usual, it comes in the “For Men” bottles as well as the regular ones.
If you have been bored by recent spring collections and are tired of the same old bright stuff, some of the colors here might peak your interest!
There are some really unusual and some people might say (ugly) colors in the “For Men” side, which I happen to think are super cool and interesting. 🙂
Is this cool or what? I would describe Hades as a camel/putty color with greenish undertones. It’s got slight silver shimmer and those cool sparse black glitter flecks that BB is known for. I love it. I think it’s really unique and haven’t seen anything else like it.
It isn’t like China Glaze Classic Camel either, in case you were wondering. That one is lighter, more yellow and has totally different shimmer. This applied like butter in just two coats.
Here we’ve got another very rare nail color. Uranus is a butterscotch creme type color. I’ve never, ever seen anything like it and think it too is pretty damn cool. I also think that it’s a bit too yellow for my skin tone though, so not sure I can actually pull it off. This was two coats.
Eros is a pale greyed-out mint green with subtle silver shimmer and black glitter flecks. Something about this one reminds me of the 1950’s and I love it. Maybe it reminds me of those old-school kitchen appliance colors! This was a little thinner so I used three coats.
Ares is a dark concrete grey with blue undertones. The silver and blue shimmer isn’t too subtle, its pretty obvious and totally “makes” this color. I didn’t think this was going to be anything special until I actually saw it on after two coats and feel totally in love. Very happy it wasn’t just another concrete grey creme.
Plutus is a bright grass green creme. This is fun, cheery and a great spring/summer color, if not the most unique green on earth. Great application and was opaque in two coats.
Appolo is a bright tangerine orange creme. I don’t have many oranges this color, so I kinda dig it. I think it’s more interesting than a neon orange or warmer orange. This was two coats as well.
Fabulous. I say this even though one of them won’t work with my skin tone and two of them aren’t colors I die over. I say this because I love seeing totally cool, NEW color combination’s, and I love edgier (i.e. ugly) colors. They might not always work for my skin tone, but I still give mad props to a company that puts them out anyway over a standard red or pink creme that they know will sell to the masses.
Availability: Should be released this week online
Pricing: $9.95 each or $57.00 for all six
Please let me know what you think! Do you love these unusual perhaps not as wearable colors or prefer the more standard spring colors?
