Fingerpaints Winter Dreams Holiday Collection has me thinking about Christmas in a big way.Which is good and bad…
Only 3 more paychecks before Christmas Day? YIKES! I better start the near impossible task of figuring out what Mr. VV wants! 🙂
These six new colors are very festive, fun and spot on for the holidays.
Let’s check them out a little closer.
Winter Wishes
Winter Wishes is a pale champagne packed with silver iridescent glitter. This color is pretty but I had formula issues. This one was extremely thick and kind of gloopy. I don’t know if the bottle was just not great or what but applying it wasn’t the best. I did work out on the end. This was two coats.
Mulberry Madness
Mulberry Madness is a deep ruby red with red glitter. I love that the base coat is pretty opaque and it’s jam-packed with glitter. The only negative I noticed, which really doesn’t even matter, is that it dries dull. But everyone wears a top coat anyway right (RIGHT?) so it’s fine. This definitely says Christmas, though original, not so much. This was two coats, which were also a little thick, but not as thick as Winter Wishes.
Holly Good Times
Holly Good Times is a pale gold base with tons of gold and red micro glitter. THIS is the holidays! I really wasn’t expecting to like this that much because I had presumed the base would be clear. However after two coats it’s just so pretty and very unique. Off the top of my head I can’t think of another color with this glitter combo that is also opaque. I think this might be my favorite one here. There were no formula problems here, the polish was a perfect consistency.
Mistletoe Mischief
Mistletoe Mischief is a deep yet kind of bright evergreen with light green glitter. Very pretty and Christmasy! This was on the thin side compared to most of the other colors, which isn’t really a bad thing. I did need three coats for total coverage. I neglected to wrap the color on all three coats though, which is why you see that it’s lighter at the ends.
Merry Mittens
Merry Mittens is a medium warm red shimmer with red and gold glitter. I love this color also and really like the glitter. The glitter isn’t all-encompassing like some of the others, which allows the nice candy-apple red shimmer to come through. This too was a little thick though and had some flaws with the formula. This was three coats.
Just Plum Fun
Just Plum Fun is a deep eggplant shimmery purple. Gorgeous, dark, shiny and jewel-like, but perhaps not all that unique. The formula was much better on this, no problems and fully opaque in two coats.
Overall:
While there were some formula consistency issues here, I do think all the colors are nice. I think the most unique ones are Holly Good Times and Merry Mittens.
Which ones are calling your name?

i lovvvve me some mulberry madness! i’m totally falling for the reds this season!
Holly Good Times, though a color I would probably not wear personally (too warm?), is gorgeous and so unique! It looks awesome on its own, and I could see it being really beautiful layered over the right red. Thanks for these swatches!
I was at Sally’s and was really close to buying winter wishes, but didn’t think I could deal with how thick it was. I am looking to get a nice wintery white polish, but havent found one yet. I like the holly color! I think I’ll pick that one up
For a wintery white, try China Glaze’s “Frosty” from the holiday collection. It’s beautiful.
Or Orly’s Winter Wonderland. I thought both the Orly and the China Glaze whites were gorgeous, like having snowflakes on your fingertips!

I am loving Holly Good Times and the Plum one. The holly color is so unique and a nice blend for fall and Christmas. Lovely! I don’t own any finger paints, I might have to give them a try.
Mistletoe Mischief and Mulberry Madness are stunning! I want them!

Holly Good Times and Mistletoe Mischief are my favorites. They really look like holiday to me.
Holly Good Times became mine the second the box came off the truck(I used to work at Sally, so know the people there, and they let me rummage through the box the second it came in).

I *love* Merry Mittens, and Mulberry Madness reminds me of cranberry sauce, so they’re right on the money with the holiday feel there, eh? Yeah, none of these look super original, but they’re pretty nonetheless, and I’d buy a couple….if I could FIND them! Stupid Canada 😛
They’re all so pretty but I especially love Holly Good Times & Just Plum Fun.
I like Mistletoe Mischief – very pretty 🙂
Got Mistletoe Mischief a couple weeks ago and it is even better in person. It also wore really well and didn’t stain!
Boy howdy- is Holly Good Times ever beautiful! That is holidays to me. Must have. Dress my lemming in a Santa hat!
Is Mulberry Madness a dupe of CG Ruby Pumps?

Holly good polish!
Ooooh, Holly Good Times is so pretty! Would you say Winter Wishes is similar to China Glaze Stellar?
Holly good times is so pretty and original! Love it.
I need holly good times, however, i think that merry mittens and just plum fun look a bit too much like OPI’s Christmas collection from last year, alas.
Oh well, Holly Good Times here I come and wallet will be happy with just one purchase.
I just got a Finger Paints that’s a pink glitter, it covered really well, and the formula was thick but since it was a glitter that was great :3 Love them!

Can you do a comparison for Just Plum Fun against Essie Viva La Vespa? They look terribly alike!
Hi Amanda,
I won’t be showing Essie on my website anymore as they are owned by L’Oreal now who does animal testing. Sorry!
