Let’s get on with the swatches shall we?
L to R: Glamora Castle, Follow Your Fantasy
Follow Your Fantasy
These are so pretty that I really didn’t want to even stick my finger in them to do a swatch. But eventually after staring at them and taking many pics I knew I had to! They are really soft and fairly opaque. You don’t really see the color of the stripes come out in the shadow itself, you really see just one color. Follow Your Fantasy is a pretty apricot peach and Glamora Castle is a medium grey/blue.
Her Blooming Cheek
Her Blooming Cheek
Her Blooming Cheek is an uber-bright blue/pink. It’s most definitely a “cool” color and not for anyone who likes subtlety. I love it on my hand but have yet to actually wear it on my face. It reminds me of what my cheeks looked like when I was standing on that freezing cold moor back in Scotland…Oh wait, I was never in Scotland, my bad 😉
L to R: Courting Lilac, Cut A Caper
Cut A Caper
Both of these colors are really fairly sheer and I had to use quite a few swipes to get this saturation. Courting Lilac is a mauve/lilac with gold (glaze) and Cut A Caper is a bright peach/pink (lustre), so neither are supposed to be super opaque anyway. They are very shiny and pretty, but I would probably wear them over another color or paired with a gloss for more saturation.
Radiant Jewels is a bright and deep magenta pink with pink sparkles. This is one of those color I adore in the tube, but not so much on. It’s super high-maintenance, in other words. It goes on kind of sheer and you have to build it up. But what I noticed is that it immediately settles into the lines in my lips, and that is my biggest pet peeve with lip gloss, I cannot stand that. So I might wear this in a thin layer over a lipstick, but not on it’s own.
Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner
Lord It Up
I am a huge fan of Pearlglide Eyeliners and both of these colors are really nice. Lord It Up is a medium brown/bronze with gold pearl. Black Swan is a black with silver/blue pearl. They both apply very smoothly without dragging and are really opaque. My only complaint with these liners, as with all Pearlglide liners, is that you can’t really wear them on the waterline because the glittery pieces can get in your eye. Been there, done that, it’s no fun!
The Family Crest
L to R: The Family Crest and Teal (Teal will be reviewed in another post)
The Family Crest is a dark black/bronze with gold flecks. It’s a gorgeous, deep color and quite opaque.
I think this is a great collection and from what I have reviewed, it’s better than I thought it would be. I love the packaging, and the concept of it and the colors were all pretty good.
