MAC’s Nail Trend F/W ’10 collection is in a word, insane. The six color concept was created by Jin Soon who was inspired by the colors and sights of Imperial China.
The collection is comprised of six saturated, shimmery colors, all totally amazing from what I have seen so far.
- Concubine – Black and red with red shimmer
- Earthly Harmony – Muted taupe with copper shimmer
- Ming Blue – Cobalt blue with teal and red shimmer
- Rain of Flowers – Blackened violet with violet shimmer
- Imperial Flower – Bright reddish orange with red and gold shimmer
- Jade Dragon – Emerald green with teal shimmer
I really feel as though MAC has greatly improved their formula with the last few collections. These are just fabulous. They are thick but not too thick, and they apply very evenly. Really nice opacity as well. I cannot speak to wear since I have only just received these and haven’t worn them long.
Jade Dragon is a deep jade green with teal blue shimmer running throughout. This color is sooooo gorgeous and really pretty unique. I can’t think of another jade green I own like it. It’s really amazing, especially in the sun. One word of warning is that is does stain. I used a base coat and literally only had the color on for about 4 or 5 minutes and it stained my nails – which don’t stain easily.

Imperial Flower is a deep orange/red with tons of amazing gold and red shimmer. This is an orange I fell in love with the second I applied it. No really, I did. You know me, I am not a huge fan of most orange nail polish on me, but this color is so saturated and just strikes the perfect balance between orange and red for my skin tone. Just gorgeous!

Obviously I can’t rate the entire collection yet because I only have two of them. However the ones I did try really were unique colors with a really great formula. I can’t wait to try out the rest of them!
These are already available on the MAC website now here, and will release in October Internationally. They retail for $13.00.
What do you think of these guys and gals? Any calling your name yet?
