I’m a sucker for the Kat Von D eyeshadow palettes. One because the colors are usually really amazing. Two because the packaging is SO pretty and cool.
The newest limited edition palette from Kat is called Adora and it’s got eight colors, three of them being cream colors.
The colors are:
- Albino – Frosty silver/white
- Holy Bible – Opaque silver
- Slayer (cream) – Silver/white cream
- Glock – Gunmetal grey
- Crucifix (cream) – Black cream
- Bloodletting (cream) – Deep blood red cream
- Ace Of Spades – Deep eggplant purple with multi-colored glitter
- Oddfellow – Dark blue with multi-colored glitter
There were some things to like and dislike with this palette I found. One is that only some of the shadows actually feel soft, are opaque and even (Holy Bible & Glock). Some of the others didn’t feel smooth, they had more of a gritty texture, and they didn’t apply evenly (Albino, Ace Of Spades and Oddfellow). The cremes are ok, they aren’t my favorite but I don’t hate them. They do feel smooth with the exception of Slayer, which again is gritty. I would use Crucifix as an eyeliner though and Bloodletting as a lipstick, rather than as eyeshadows.
The biggest disappointments are Ace Of Spades and Oddfellow. In the pan they look so pretty and amazing, but they just don’t translate. They feel thin, patchy and you can’t really see the glitter once it’s on your skin.
L to R: Albino, Holy Bible
L to R: Slayer, Glock
L to R: Crucifix, Bloodletting
L to R: Ace Of Spades, Oddfellow

I think of the five palettes I own by Kat Von D, this is my least favorite. I just don’t think the colors were smooth and opaque enough and I could do without the three cream shadows.
Have you tried any Kat Von D palettes? Which were your favorites?
