The MAC Alice + Olivia collection has been released and with it are three new nail lacquers, yay!
I had high hopes for these from the promo pics and for me, I wasn’t let down. I was really pleased with all three of these colors and the formula was pretty spot on as well.
I know a lot of people don’t like MAC nail lacquers because in the past the formula has been sketchy and they seem to chip quickly. However the past few collections I have reviewed have really been much better. I can’t comment on wear yet because I have only just swatched these (not worn them), but I normally change my polish every 2 days or so anyway so wear usually isn’t too much of an issue for me!
So Rich So Pretty is a fuchsia/purple color with tons of purple and blue shimmer. I think this one is really stunning, and has a great “glow” about it. I might have a few other colors similar in my collection, but colors like this always make me happy! This was opaque in two coats.
Morning After is a medium blue teal creme. It’s got a bit of a dusty quality to it, but it shows a little darker in real life than this photo depicts. I think it’s a very pretty color, but was on the thin side. It’s a super flattering blue for my skin tone. This was only two coats here, but you can see my nail line under, so maybe three would have been better.
Military is a black/grey matte with tons of silver micro-glitter. The application on this was really great, very smooth and dried quick but not TOO quick. I love the effect of a black matte with glitter it looks really cool. This was two coats.
Of course I had to show you what Military looks like with a top coat also! Super cool! I love the way it looks here and would wear this one both as a matte and with a top coat for sure.
This collection is now available on MAC’s website and in stores today. These are $12.00 each.
So what’s the word, are you digging these or passing?
