Milani has some new mechanical eye liners out that are glittery and sparkly. They come in 6 different colors, and I’ve got five of them to show you below.
These liners come in a mechanical pencil type of packaging, which makes it pretty easy to use. The tip is nicely pointed and the other end of the pencil holds a nice little sponge for smudging. I have to say personally though, I have never really used those smudging sponges that come with eye liners, I prefer a nice makeup brush for that.
These do apply pretty easily, they are smooth, soft and you definitely can see the tiny silver glitter in them. The glitter in Black Rocks seems to be the most noticeable, obviously.
I wore a green eye look on St. Patrick’s Day last week and used Emerald Stone on my top eyelid. I was very pleased with the color payoff on it. I had expected it to be lighter and not as noticeable for some reason. The glitter was noticeable but not childish looking or totally in your face obnoxious.
A few days later I wore Purple Quartz with a purple eye look and wasn’t quite as impressed with it as Emerald Stone. The purple wasn’t as opaque as I would like and it took quite a few swipes of it to get the purple to really show. I even wound up adding another purple liner over it to make it more intense. Also I noticed that the glitter fell a little bit and got into my eyes, boo! I didn’t notice that with Emerald Sparkle maybe because I didn’t have to use as much to get it on nicely.
Needless to say I don’t think wearing these on your waterline would be advisable since the glitter will probably wind up in your eyes!
I am anxious to try the Black Rocks and Terra Brown (which really isn’t brown as you can see, it’s a coppery metallic color) because they look pretty opaque.
The other color that isn’t listed here is called Precious Silver, and it looks like a metallic silver.
You can find these online and in stores where other Milani products are sold. These retail for about 5.99 each.
