Yes, it is Thursday which means Friday is right around the corner, whoo hoo!
Today I’ve got the two new colors from Deborah Lippmann for spring 2010. They may not be what you think of when you think spring. They aren’t totally bright or saturated, more subdued and dare I say, professional?
The formula was pretty good with these, as hers usually are. Excellent consistency and no problems. I have to say though I’m not totally gaga (no not Lady) over these though. Peep ’em and see for yourself!
I’m Not Innocent is a pale nude/peach creme. This was very sheer and a wee bit streaky. I think it would look more saturated and even if you used a coat of white underneath. I’m not really a fan of sheers or nudes for that matter, so this didn’t suit me personally. It is a really good professional color though and would work for any conservative situation.
Waking Up In Vegas is a light putty grey/taupe creme. When I first saw promo pics of this I was totally psyched because I love these kinds of colors. But somehow the color didn’t translate on my skin as good as I had hoped. Normally these colors work pretty well with me, but this one doesn’t look quite right. I do like the color a lot, just not on me. This was two coats.
Overall even though these colors weren’t perfect on me, I think they are still nice and unique.
You can find these on Deborah Lippmann’s website here and they retail for $16.00.
How are you feeling these?

I am not really feeling these…..especially I’m not so Innocent, especially on my skin tone. Waking up in Vegas is not bad, but $16.00….Yikes! thanks for the swtaches and review!
I actually love both of them on you, especially I’m Not Innocent! I’ve had some bad luck with Lippmann’s, I’ve tried to contact them like 3 times wanting to know how can get my hands on some of their products since I’m in EU and I never got a response, which I find really bad, I hate that kind of customer support!

Hi Katie,
Thanks! I had the same issue actually. I contacted them three times and then blogged about how their customer service wasn’t good. Then Deborah immediately contacted me and apologized. I don’t know why some companies don’t respond to people, it’s frustrating 🙁
These are ok, I do like Waking Up in Vegas. But I’m really looking forward to seeing their upcoming anniversary set and fall and holiday collections (already?!) They look stunning in the bottle.

OK, but not good enough to pay $16 even if I COULD get them in the UK.
Not thrilled at all with these shades. There seems to be too many of these shades lately. I guess I want something different but I don’t know what. I feel like we’re being over-saturated with pastels also. Please someone put some different thought into a new collection. Anything very different out there Kelly?
Hi Lucy,
I know it always happens that way in spring/summer. All pastels and neons. I am gonna show the new BB Couture for Men collex and Rococo Nail Apparel soon and those are def. different colors!
I’m Not Innocent is a very sweet colour…I like it! =)
I actually really like these colors, though $16 exceeds my limit for a bottle of nail polish. I don’t think the colors would actually look good on my skin tone (cool/medium MAC NC30) either, but I think the peach/nude is much better looking than some of the pastel peaches we’ve seen this spring. How was the finish, they look slightly matte-like in the photo (especially the grey)? Thanks for swatching!
I like I’m Not Innocent, but again not worth $16.

These colours don’t excite me. Yes, they’re nice, but we’ve seen these before. I’m hoping that the lull the nail-polish companies have been having lately is because they’re busy working on something outstanding for a future collection.

I like the colors and they look unique but I probably won’t get them.

Those colours are really pretty. I’m trying to find polishes that are more work appropriate and these look great.

Hi crystal,
I haven’t seen that one sorry!
What about the 3rd color in this collection? Did you not get it? I thought there was a lilac.
Hi Kiki,
There is a very pale pink that isn’t really part of this collection. It’s called Shape Of My Heart and was created with Shape magazine to help fight breast cancer. I do have it, but didn’t review it yet.
Ah, that’s what I was thinking of. It rounds out the admittedly light spring colors, I guess that’s why I assumed. Thanks for the reply. You rock! 😀
Hi Kiki,
Sure thing!
