Good morning all!
Today I’ve got Butter London’s new fall 2009 collection called Fashionista’s Favourites. It’s made up of five new colors, and one particularly stunning green…
The formula on these is thick, as all Butter London polishes are. This can make them a little hard to work with. The key with these is to really make sure each coat is dry before you apply the next one or you will wind up with globs of polish at the tips, and cuticle drag.
One great thing about this collection is that it has the new bottle tops! YES they finally listened to our complaints and made the rectangle top so that you can pull it off, and use a “normal” round wand. Check it out below.
Pearly Queen is a pale pearl white shimmer. I actually really like this color, though it’s not my “norm”. This was two coats.
Scoundrel is a lavender creme that’s a bit muted. I really like this one also, though I feel like I have a bunch of colors very similar. This was two coats.
Minger is a pumpkin orange creme. I don’t know why but I LOVE this orange! And it’s not very common for me to love a warm orange, but somehow this is just the right tone. This was two coats.
Rosie Lee is a rose gold glitter with clear base. I love the glitter in this, it’s so pretty and unique. This was three thick coats for maximum coverage.
British Racing Green is a dark emerald green shimmer. Love it. What else can I say, it’s not too dark, not too light, and just the right amount of shimmer. It’s not like other greens I own. This was two coats.
Overall I like this collection, and would give it a B if I had to grade it. The stand out colors for me are Minger, Rosie Lee, and British Racing Green.
These should be available this week on their website here, and they are $14.00 each or $45.00 for all five.
What do you guys think, worth it?

I certainly hope that Butter has improved their formula. The last ones I ordered were HORRIBLE. I wound up throwing them away they were so bad. Though the colors are nice, I have a real problem with the price point. I think these are way overpriced at $14 and by the time you add in the shipping they are even more expensive. Not going to order again unless they really improve their formulation and its a color I can’t live without.
Hi Amy,
The formula on these did seem better than ones I tried in the past. Less sticky and “gloopy” if that’s a word haha! I am wearing British Racing Green now, and loving it. I totally understand about the price though, $14.00 is on the high side.
ohhh i ordered this set awhile ago and now i cannot wait until i get them!!! thanks for the lovely preview!!
I ordered this as a set when they first came out, and I’m in love with the colors! I think they are perfect for fall and fit well together as a group. They are a little pricey, but this seems to be more of a high-end brand? I love the packaging too.
They look lovely on you! I’d love to see you review the new Christmas ones
beautiful colors!
I wonder about the British racing green – how does it looks compares to Barry m’s racing green? they look similiar to me… and both gorgeous!

Hi Inbal,
Actually it’s pretty different from Barry M’s Racing Green. That one has a lot of blue in the green whereas this doesn’t. Also Barry M’s has gold shimmer, and this is just straight hunter or emerald green 🙂
I LOVE Minger. It’s gorgeous. I like more vivid emerald greens, not dark ones.
I guess I’m gonna skip this set too. You put it sweetly/gently regarding their formula but I have heard nothing but terrible things about this polish on MUA so I guess nothing has changed then…
unfortch none of the colors call to me enough for me to ignore the price/bad-formula combo.
I totally get why you like that orange tho. Looks good on ya.
I love these colors and have been wearing them for a while. I have a couple dozen BL polishes and don’t have issues with the formula of any of them. Maybe slightly thick, but well within the range of normal and workable for B3F polishes. The BL outer bottle tops have been removable for a while, but improved with this collection.
Oh; I looove “British Racing Green”! And “Rosie Lee”- even though I’m not such a fan of glitters.
Do you know, if I can get them in Germany?
The green one is gorgeous!

I’m not inspired to get any of these (although they look very nice) but ROTFLMAO – they have a polish called Minger. haha. Such an English word!

I love Minger, Rosie Lee and British Racing Green. Those are the stand-outs. That green is gorgeous. I don’t own any Butter London. I have to see how much their postage is. That ‘s what will make my decision a yes or a no. Thanks for swatching these sweetie. You have such lovely nails and perfect application.
thanks so much for posting these swatches! I love the green and orange, but think I will pass on them. BUT, I really think I must own Rosie Lee! i was actually thinking of getting it soon anyway, and your pic just confirmed that I *need* it. Thanks. 🙂
I love this collection. I’m getting their Christmas Collection today (three new colours) and can’t wait to see how they turn out.
I have to admit – I’m a butter LONDON lemming-ista!
Oh my! Soundrel is calling my name, gorgeous little beauty.
Racing Green is so pretty. For some reason. greens & purples is what I am really drawn to lately.

ButterLondon has some of the best and dare I say it most underrated glitter polishes EVER! My favorite happens to be Westend Wasteland 🙂
OMG!! They are all beautiful! I MUST have them!
I love butter LONDON!!
