Hey Peeps, hope your week is going well and going by fast! Can you believe Labor Day weekend is right around the corner? I swear summer JUST started now we only have 3 weeks left until it’s over, le sigh.
Back to business. SpaRitual will soon be releasing a collection called Forbidden. These are all cremes, with one glorious exception. All are nice, serene colors that are fairly unique. The formula on SpaRitual is really great, though I usually do need three coats for complete opacity. Peep ’em!
Mystic is a cafe latte colored creme. This isn’t a color I would normally go for but there is something different enough about it that makes it interesting to me. This was three coats.
Inner Sanctum is a hard to describe color. It’s kind of an orange/caramel colored creme. Not a huge fan of this on me, but I think it would look great with darker skin. This was three coats.
Hush is a milk chocolate brown creme that leans towards the warm side. I like this color, even though it’s got a lot of orange tones to it, which I don’t normally go for. This was three coats.
Hypnotic is the “black sheep” of this collection and my favorite one. It’s a brownish colored grey that’s both frosty and shimmery at the same time. I don’t own anything even close to this color and I love it. This was two coats.
Intrigue is a very bright cherry red creme that totally reminds me of the 50’s. Really flattering on my fair skin. This was two coats.
Regal is a warm plum colored creme. I saw it in the bottle and thought “boring” but once it was on, I couldn’t stop looking at my hands! It’s very nice and different from all the other grape and royal purple cremes we have seen all season long. This was three coats.
Overall I think there are colors here for everyone, but you have to like cremes since most of them are creme. I didn’t have any application issues with these or any other SpaRitual colors in the past (that I can remember) so the quality is right on. You should be able to find these on this Beautyneeds website here this month and they retail for $7.95 each.

I love Hypnotic. Will try to get one 🙂
I have a dumb question. I just started wearing colored nail polish. LARGELY because of your blog. Do you have a tutorial or instructions on HOW to paint your nails? Mine always end up looking like a kindergarted craft project..& YOURS always look PERFECT.
Hi Margeret,
Not a dumb question at all! I plan on doing a photo tutorial soon actually all about that. The key is, once you are done painting, go around your nails with a small paint brush dipped in remover to clean everything up. Trust me, mine do not look perfect when I am done! Practice definitely helps though!
I love a lot of these colors, the first three are great fall colors!
Another thing I might want to add about painting nails is that the more you paint your nails, the better you’ll get at it. I just started last year (in the summer) and my nail painting “skills” have greatly improved. 🙂
Hi Sonya,
That is very true, in the last year since I started polishing A LOT, I have greatly improved as well 🙂
Great tips! I never thought of using a paint brush. I usually use a q-tip, but sometimes the fuzzies mess up my polish. Also, do you wait until polish is totally dry before cleaning up, or do you start cleaning up as soon as you’re done polishing?
Hi Paula,
Yeah I have done the Q-tip thing also and got fuzzies in the polish! I usually wait at least 3 or 4 minutes to do the clean up after I use a quick dry top coat just so it’s not tacky to the touch anymore.
In the past year that I’ve been painting my nails, I started out sloppily and now I hardly need to do any clean up at all. Also, if you get polish on your finger, wait until your polish is completely dry then go take a shower. After a few minutes, you can peel off the excess polish.
They are all lovely colors. I really love the red. It does look like that 50’s style polish. I really like Inner Sanctum. It’s a little different from others. Your nails always look beautiful. How to paint your nails will be a great tutorial. I’m a sloppy applier of nail polish. So maybe I can pick up some pointers.
These are perfect for Fall! I love Regal, Hypnotic and Hush!

Hi Kelly:
I am really loving all these new polish cremes from Spa Ritual they look so gorgeous and dazzling on your nails. I can’t decide between, “Hypnotic” or “Regal” are my favs. The same goes for “Hush” I love that chocolate brown or I alos love Inner sanctum and “Mystic” for some reason this gray color I think would look great with a pair of tan slacks, LOL I evne would go for “Intrigue” because it’s such a pretty cherry red and would be fun wearing it while working on either the Avon Walk or Susan Komen Walk for Breast Cancer. My Crew Team would love it on me, LOL
Would the mate polish be safe with these colors or would you just recommend a shiny top coat foir my toenails? Now, I want the entire collection because they are so cool and beautiful looking.
Finally, I love the way you add new pictures of your travels to your web site and those adorable little icons for when people submit comments. Have a great Labor Day Weekend, and don’t forget to wear something teal colored today, it’s “National Teal Friday” to help raise awareness for ovarian cancer!
