TGIF! As you might have already heard, Barielle and Michelle from All Lacquered Up collaborated together on a really great collection for fall 2009. They came up with 12 polishes and I have to say there isn’t a single one that I didn’t like. A couple weren’t suited to my taste or skin tone, but all were really nice colors and a few knocked my socks off!
Today I am bringing you the first six in this collection. A word about formula. Fab. Barielle has a great formula and these are no exception. Almost all were just two coats. Check them out and see if you like!
Slate Of Affairs
Slate Of Affairs is a nice dusty slate blue with a pearl shimmer that flashes different colors, depending on the lighting. It’s very unique and totally suits my skin tone. This was three coats as it was a little more sheer than some of the others.
U-Concrete-Me
U-Concrete-Me is a nice concrete grey creme. I love it as I love most grey’s. This was two coats.
Polished Princess
Polished Princess is a really great almost chartreuse green shimmer. I love this in the bottle and on other people but not on my skin, unfortunately. This was way too yellow for me. This was two coats.
Glammed Out Garnet
Glammed Out Garnet is a pretty garnet red shimmer. This is a great color for December and it reminds me of Christmas and cold weather (if you count 50 degrees as cold, which I do being from California hahaha!). This was two coats.
Blackened Bleu
Blackened Bleu is a stunning blackened deep blue with tiny light blue glitter in it. Totally love this one, it’s amazing! This was two coats.
Lava Rock
Lava Rock is an amazing blackened deep plum/red shimmer that really comes alive in the sun. It’s definitely a ‘lit from within’ color. This is my favorite one of these six, I LOVE the fire it has deep within it. However after seeing this one one, it reminded me of another polish from Duri, who makes incredible lit from within colors…See pic below.
Barielle Lava Rock vs Duri Dirty Dancing
I am holding Duri’s color called Dirty Dancing and it’s also on my ring and pinkie fingers. VERY similar, no? Unless you really study them closely you can’t detect a difference. However when you look close you can see that Duri’s is a tad bit more blackened and has a brighter shimmer that stands out just a little more than Lava Rock’s does. But really, they are damn close and both are two coats.
Stay tuned for part II to see the rest of this collection!

Hi Kelly:
These are all gorgeous colors and Michelle from ALU did a fantastic job working with Barielle to come up with her signature collection of 12 polishes. I beleive they are going to be available in August 2009 and are buy 2 get 1 free, but don’t quote me. LOL
Michelle loves her greens an “Polished Princess” looks gorgeous but actually they look so fantastic and amazing on your nails, especially I love “State of Affairs,” U-Concrete-Me,” and “Lava Rock.” I just might have to get the entire collection as a collector’s item, LOL.
(((((Love Kelly)))))
Mc Huggs 🙂
Slate of Affairs is gorgeous! Blackened Bleu is really pretty too! And I looooove Lava Rock.
Where can you purchase these?
Hi Decorative Diva,
They aren’t available until September I believe but you will be able to go to Barielle’s website and get them there. Some drug stores carry them as well, but I can’t say that I have ever seen them in any drug store near me.
whats the price tag on this brand? love the blackened bleu too. and i think its hysterical how the fall trends seem to be total opposites: sparkles on one side and mattes on the other.
These are gorgeous! I do love them. I also love your new header!
Hi gansie,
They are about $8.00 each and come out in I believe, September. You can find them then on http://www.barielle.com.
