Sally Hansen has released eight new colors in their Insta-Dri collection for summer 2009. I was only able to get six of them because two were out so I don’t even know what they are. I have gone back 3 times to check and see if they have been re-stocked, but nooooo, of course not. I am REALLY hoping I’m not missing a really cool green, purple or blue though!
As I mentioned with the other Insta-Dri’s that I swatched a few weeks ago, the brush is really bizarre on these (wide and flat), but it somehow works. It fits my nail pretty much right on, but I can see how it may be too wide for some people, so it might take some practice to get used to it. Check ’em out!
Lemon Dash is a nice sunny yellow that’s not without its, how shall we say, “issues”. It’s streaky, but actually less streaky than a lot of other recent yellows. This yellow has a tinge of orange to it, so its warmer than some like Sephora by OPI’s IM Beauty. This was three coats to get it even.
Coral Rush is a coral colored creme that’s on the cool side. It’s bright and pretty and very “summery” I think. It was nice and opaque and this was only two coats.
Rapidly Rosy is a flamingo pink creme. It too was very opaque and I only needed two coats.
Orange You Fast!
Orange You Fast! is an orange creme that has a lot of red to it. It’s bright and pretty and also only two coats.
Flyin Fuchsia is like Rapidly Rosy’s older slightly darker sister. This was opaque in two coats.
Instant Iris was the stand out shade in this collection, at least from the six I was able to get my hands on. This is the only shimmery shade and very pretty. I think of this as being more fuchsia than Flyin’ Fuchsia is. It has a really pretty pink and blue flash to it also. This was the easiest application of all these for me, though it did need three coats.
These should be available in most drug stores now that carry Sally Hansen and they are about $6.00 each. I know they are notoriously hard to find though and it can be incredibly frustrating! I have written to them in the past about that, but never heard back. It doesn’t really surprise me though since their website is always horribly out of date, which nowadays is totally inexcusable, especially for a huge company like that! Get it together SH!
