I took these a few weeks ago and just haven’t gotten it together to show! I am slacking this week, I know, I know. I have TONS of stuff to swatch but since it’s so nice out I don’t feel like swatching all day long. Good things to come though, I promise! So this is Orly’s Carnivale collection for spring 2009. There were some hits & misses for me with his collection, which you will read about below. Pics taken in sun with no top coat.
Bongo Beat is a really pretty opalescent pink that flashes purple and blue. It was pretty sheer going on and I used three coats. The formula was nice and even, no issues with this.
Confetti is a very sheer pale cotton candy pink that I had a lot of issues with. First off it’s very watery and sheer so I could have used four coats (but there are three here). It was very streaky and uneven also. I like the concept of this color but it just didn’t work with the formula.
Festival Lights is a sheer tangerine colored orange. This color just looks awful with my skin tone, I can never pull it off, but it definitely could work on darker skin. The formula was a little thin with this and I needed three coats.
Chica Boom is more my colored orange! I love this one, it’s a bright (but not neon) yellow based orange creme and went on opaque, smooth and wonderful. This is three coats.
Samba is a pretty dark pink creme with some red in it. This one too was nice and opaque and smooth, great formula! This is three coats.
Rio Nights was so great in the bottle but not on the nail for me. I thought it was going to be dark and opaque, but it turned out to be thin and watery. This is three coats here and you can still see the nail underneath in certain spots. I think I will stick with Orly’s Charged Up, which is a much better grape creme!
What do you guys think about these, will you be getting any of them?
