Here we are folks, a rockin’ new collection from Essie that’s quite unexpected! Three awesome blue’s called the North Fork collection for summer 2009. I for one am super duper happy about seeing Essie break away from the traditional pinks, reds and neutrals that they normally do. I think A LOT of women don’t particularly want to wear those types of colors and are venturing into the land of blue, green, purple and vampies now. My best friend can’t wear nail polish at work because of the line of work she’s in, however she does wear vampies on her toes and I think that’s the case with a lot of women. Maybe they are more conservative on their fingernails, but they are more “risky” with their pedis, going for crazier colors. Anyway, I didn’t have any application problems with these, they were all fabulous! Pics taken in sun with no top coat.
Sag Harbor is a beautiful light silvery/grey pale blue shimmer. This is only two coats in the pic, but I did try it with three and the color looked more opaque (but my pics sucked so I didn’t use them). I don’t have anything quite like this one and I love it.
Shelter Island is a vivid sky blue creme that is similar to some other recent blues that have come out lately, but still really gorgeous. This is only two coats here, it was very opaque.
Greenport of course is the fav of this group for me. The color is a teal that leans towards the green side, but definitely isn’t “green” per se. It’s not a dupe to Dirty, Sexy, Money by Misa if you are thinking it is! This is only two coats here and I could have used three I think to make it slightly more opaque, but I was in a hurry to get these posted!
Which are your favs? Are you happy Essie is venturing into more risque colors now?
You can find these on Essie’s website here and they are $9.00 each.
