Happy Monday Vampies! Today I am bringing you a “sneak peek” of Dashing Diva’s The Manhattan Collection. Dashing Diva (a three free company) launched their first nail spa 5 years ago in the East Village of New York and quickly expanded into 8 other areas of New York as well as California, North Carolina, Japan, Kuwait, The Philippines, Australia and China. In celebration of their newest spa, which launches in Long Island, NY in January 2009, they are releasing a collection appropriately called The Manhattan Collection. Here is my preview of the four colors which make up this collection. All pictures taken in sun with no top coat.
Central Park After DarkWhen
I see Central Park After Dark I think of raisins. It’s
what I would call a “raisin-y” purple/brown creme. It took 3 coats to achieve bottle color, but went on very smoothly. Their brushes are somewhat narrower than I am used to, so I wasn’t able to
get as much polish on my nail with the first swipe, which is actually a good
thing. Sometimes I get way too much polish on the brush and when it’s
wide (think OPI), it tends to bleed into my cuticle area. I didn’t have any issue
with these though!
East VillageEast Village is a really nice medium coffee colored brown shimmer. You can’t see the shimmer because the sun wasn’t cooperating much today, but it’s there. It’s made up of what looks like very fine gold and pink particles. This is also three coats here.
NYPD BlueThis name is SO fitting to me! NYPD Blue is a very pigmented dark navy blue creme that looks very blackened indoors. I only needed two coats with this one, but be careful when applying. It’s one of those that’s so saturated with color that if you get it on your cuticle area, it’s going to be really hard to get it off! Definitely use a good base coat also, these deep blues are very staining to the nail.
The Red CarpetThe Red Carpet is what I classify as a tomato red creme. It definitely has more of an orange base rather than blue base. I only needed two coats to get achieve bottle color. I think this is really flattering on me despite the orange-ness for once!
The Manhattan Collection will be released on their website here some time this week. All these are $7.99 each. They are also having a 25% off sale on some of their colors. Enjoy!
Vamp it up!
