Let me start this post by saying I searched all over Hell’s creation trying to find this collection which supposedly came out in Target, Rite Aid, Long’s etc., in September. Well let me tell you people, after searching about 10-15 drug stores and not finding a single one, I had to resort to eBay. I was highly annoyed because it’s not like the San Francisco Bay Area is some small rural town! Anyhoo, I got 4 of my favorite ones and the pics and reviews are below.
I was very prepared to fall madly in love with this color, especially after seeing All Lacquered Up do her swatch. Alas, I was a tad let down. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the color but it doesn’t make me swoon for some reason. The application was really nice, though I did have to use 3 coats. It’s a beautiful silvery blue with a nice metallic-ish shimmer. Maybe it’s my skin tone, I don’t know, but I was expecting more from this color.
This is the one I was most excited about (no surprise there!) and it’s my favorite of the four. It too took 3 coats to opaqueness, but it’s worth it. It’s a black base with a lot of fine silver glitter. I cannot say enough about how much I love black polishes with some excitement in them. I also love a solid shiny jet black, but sometimes you just crave more and this is it!
The Good Earth
It’s so funny because I was expecting to like Stormy Blue the most and this the least, but I really, really liked this one! I only needed 2 coats, which is rare and nice. The color is a medium brown with lots of very fine gold shimmer. I think it’s my second favorite of the bunch but Alchemy also surprised me. Oh and before you ask no, it’s not anything like Chanel Haute Chocolat. So if you love shimmery browns, I say get them both, economy be damned!
Again I was taken (very happily) by surprise with Alchemy! This is a color like no other polish I own which is great! It’s 3 coats and the color is a reddish purple with very fine pink shimmer. It’s truly a great color for Fall and looks fabulous with light skin.
Vamp it up!
