I am finally back from San Antonio and feel SO swamped with both regular work and website stuff! I have been desperate to show some swatches I did a couple weeks ago so I am doing this post now. I also have a gazillion new polishes I need to swatch still and will hopefully get to some of them today. The swatches below (all taken in sunlight) are older colors from Orly, CND and Nicole by OPI but I hope you will find them useful!
As I have found with most Orly polishes, the application was really nice. This is 2 coats here. This is a really pretty grape color with lots of large-ish lavender & silver glitter particles. Very nice and shimmery in the sun and indoors.
Again with the wonderful application and 2 coats. This is a very pretty navy blue base with tons of light blue shimmer throughout. It’s not quite electric blue, but almost.
Take Him to the Cleaners
The application on this one was really sheer and almost watery. This is 3 coats here, but I could have done 4! One thing I didn’t like right away was that the tips were not getting enough color on them because of the watery consistency, so they don’t look so hot. The color is a black based deep reddish/brown with lots of fine red glitter. Very pretty color if you have the time to deal with the sheerness, but I am not fond of this formula.
Now this is more my speed! Can you tell it’s a mini bottle? I accidentally ordered the mini but will have to buy the regular size because I loved this one. It’s a nice shiny jet black with LOTS of large silver glitter in it. It’s also pretty opaque for a black, this is 2 coats here.
When I first opened the box and saw this color I was really disappointed. It looked nothing like it did online, I thought it was way darker. However I must say after 2 coats of this I really liked it! Of course the consistency was great (CND always is) and true to the bottle in just 2 coats. The color is hard to describe it’s like a coppery/reddish/brown with nice shimmer. It’s a really great holiday color I think!
This is another one I wasn’t totally thrilled with in the bottle, but once it was on I loved! Limited Edition is a really nice deep pinkish/red with very subtle silvery shimmer. It’s almost cranberry and almost a creme but not quite. It’s blue based so it really suits my fair skin tone. This is 3 coats here and again, I think it’s a great holiday color!
It’s Up to You
And NOW for the electric blue! I love all of Nicole by OPI’s polishes that I have tried so far (see swatches here). They all have great smooth formulas and excellent colors. This is a great medium electric blue with lots of shimmer and shine. I have 3 coats on here. Awesome!
Vamp it up!
