Butter LONDON is a brand that is fairly new and I am just recently getting into. I have about 8 or 9 polishes by them and wanted more, so I got three that appealed to me from their website. I really like the whole concept behind Butter LONDON, from their name to the adorable polish names, the colors, the formula, their website, etc. The one thing that I don’t like is their bottle shape! It’s SO hard to open and close the bottle because of the awkward rectangle shape. I totally get that aesthetically, it’s really nice and it’s not like any other polish, but I feel as though it’s just not at all user friendly. It won’t stop me from buying them, however! I also decided to try their basecoat, called Nail Foundation and topcoat, called Hardware, to see if it helps the polish last longer (which I am testing now, day 1). Pics all taken in sun with no topcoat.
When I first applied this one, I thought to myself, blah, another boring brown. But I was wrong! After 2 coats it turned into a really nice medium chocolate brown creme with a very slight muted purple-ish hue. It’s what I would call a “mushroomy” color and I love mushroomy colors! They are a tad unusual which is so me! In case you are wondering what other colors I might call mushroomy, I would say OPI’s You Don’t Know Jacques and Sephora’s Metro Chic fall into this category.
This one is my favorite of this bunch. At first when I ordered it I thought it might be very similar to their other purple, HRH, but noooo, this is very different. It’s a gorgeous jewel toned royal purple with a nice blue opalescent-y overlay. I needed 3 coats to get the opacity deep enough. Once in the sun, this baby shimmers and glimmers! I took a (blurry) pic of it in the sun so you can see the blue shimmer running through it. Nice!
Powder Finish Foot Creme
The folks at Butter LONDON sent me this gratis bottle of their new Powder Finish Foot Creme as a thanks to posting swatches of their polishes awhile ago (thanks so much!). I tried it out and really like it. It’s unlike any lotion or creme I have used before. It dries like a powder so there is no greasiness or slipperiness to it whatsoever. The smell is really nice also it’s like a mix of lavender, rose & mint. I know that sounds horrific, but really the scent is very light and pleasant. The creme leaves your feet silky and dry, it’s great!
Vamp it up!
