Happy Monday! Is there such a thing? Mine isn’t going to be happy because I have to get a root canal this afternoon! I am dreading it, I haaaaaate the DENTIST and a root canal is the worst thing ever. Ugh, wish me luck.
Let’s forget about teeth and focus on nail polish ok? The Morgan Taylor Spring 2015 collection features four new soft shades all inspired by the New York Fashion Week shows. Actually the spring and summer 2015 collections from them kind of go hand-in-hand, but I decided to split them up into two blog posts. I was sent the spring collection along with a bottle of Need For Speed, which is their quick dry top coat, and Mattes A Wrap, which is a matte top coat.
Since these are on the very pale/sheer-ish side, I used three thin coats for most of them. The formula was a little hit or miss for me depending on the shade.
Heaven Sent (I keep wanting to write Heaven Scent) is a sheer antique white. You can see how this is fairly uneven on me but it’s still somehow really attractive to me for some reason. It makes my hands look nice and clean and healthy. This was three coats but if I had used a ridge-filling base coat it probably would have been less patchy.
In the Nude is a sheer beige/pink. This one covered a little bit better than Heaven Sent but obviously it’s still showing uneven areas. This was three coats.
Water Baby is a pale aquamarine creme. So lovely! Even though I did need three thin coats (most people can probably do two) I think it’s well worth it for this beautiful pale blue color.
I like it a lot with Mattes A Wrap top coat as well.
Coming Up Roses is a muted mauve creme. Of the four this one had the best formula because I only needed two coats and it covered the most evenly. Of course it’s my least favorite shade personally.
And here she is with Mattes A Wrap top coat.
Despite the fact that Heaven Sent isn’t at all even on me I really like it! So shiny and feminine looking. Of course Water Baby is the stand-out color for me though.
You can find this collection on their website and and in salons and they are $8.50 each.
