Sephora by OPI Nail Colour for Spring 2010 Swatches & Review

Hallo!

Sephora by OPI has some new colors out for spring! There are 6 new colors, and I have the four that appealed to me the most.

I am apologizing again for these not so great pics, sorry!

Handpicked For Me

Handpicked For Me is a pink/lilac, shimmer. This pic is kinda blown out, the color is a little deeper in real life. This was a wee bit sheer and I used three coats to get it to this opacity.

butter LONDON Jelly Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches & Review

Good Monday morning!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Today I’ve got an eagerly anticipated new collection from butter LONDON called Jelly. This is for spring 2010.

The three colors in this collection are all sheer, juicy, shimmery jelly polishes. The idea behind these was to wear either one coat for just a wash of color, or multiple coats for more impact. You can also mix and match them.

I admit, the idea of sheer polishes doesn’t excite me that much. I am a fan of the seriously opaque, so while these are not my taste per se, I can totally appreciate them for what they are meant to be.

The application was really great. As expected they are very sheer after just one coat, but build up nicely after three. I didn’t try layering them yet, but can imagine a whole world of possibilities! Peep them out!

Chuffed

Chuffed is a sheer tangerine jelly with shimmer. Chuffed means to be very happy with yourself or pleased about something in Jolly Old England. This was the sheerest one of the three and you can see here even after three coats, you have very definite VNL (visible nail line). It reminds me of a popsicle!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review

Hey there people of the world!

Today I’ve got yet another new collection from Sally Hansen, but this time it’s from their Insta-Dri line. I only got 4 of the colors, since the others I saw didn’t appeal to me that much. Not sure how many new ones there are but I’m guessing between 6-8 total.

As you may know these are polishes made to be pretty opaque and dry super quick, and they don’t disappoint in those areas. These were all 2 coats and dried very quickly. My only complaint is that the brushes on these are very thick and flat and can be hard to get used to for some people.

Sorry for the sad state of affairs my cuticles are in here, but I had been swatching for hours at this point, and they were feelin’ the pain!

Lickety-Split Lime

Lickety-Split Lime is a bright lime green creme. This isn’t neon, but it’s extremely bright. I think it actually looked good with my skin tone even with all the yellow in it.

NARS Purple Rain Nail Polish Swatches & Review

It’s Thursday and I am bringing you quite possibly one of the best purple nail polishes ever to grace the fingernails of the world!

I do not exaggerate people. I had my doubts about NARS Purple Rain being this good because I was disappointed a little with Chanel Vendetta, which was also totally hyped. But as soon as I saw Scrangie’s swatches, I placed my order!

Purple Rain is part of the NARS spring 2010 collection. It’s just gorgeous, as you will soon discover.

The formula was like butter, so flawless and wonderful, as you would expect from NARS.

I am tempting the evil eBay thieves by not watermarking these but they were so nice I couldn’t bear it! These are all taken indoors with and without flash. Peep and drool!

Purple Rain (with flash)

Purple Rain is a jewel toned deep purple with blue and red shimmer running throughout. The color changes depending on which way you turn your hand, it’s just stunning. I had my whole “Top 5 Purples” post all figured out until this baby came. Now I have to re-think things, because this is definitely in there! The closest other purple I own to this is Illamasqua Baptiste, but this seems to have more of the blue and red shimmer and this isn’t as “blackened” as Baptiste can look. This was two coats.
