A few days ago I reviewed the new OPI Sheer Tints Top Coats for spring 2014 here. As I mentioned in the post, these can be worn alone as a wash of color OR over other colors. Yes it even says so on the press release and on the bottles.
I think a lot of people didn’t like the way they looked on their own and wanted to see other options. I finally had some more time to play around with them so I decided to swatch them over a white – OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Now you can see a different side of them and what they can do.
Also I would like to point you to a couple of blog posts from people who are way more talented than I am so you can see some really cool ideas! Jackie from Candy Coated Tips has some great ideas as does Valesha from Peachy Polish and Carolina from Colores de Carolina.
So here they are on their own. Just a sheer, shiny wash of color. And below they are swatched over white.
This was two coats of I’m Never Amberrassed over My Boyfriend Scales Walls. One thing to note. I wasn’t patient enough letting the first coat dry so I had some issues with my middle and pointer fingers. Patience helps!
One coat of Be Magentale With Me over My Boyfriend Scales Walls.
One coat of I Can’t Teal You Like Me over My Boyfriend Scales Walls.
Two coats of Don’t Violet Me Down over My Boyfriend Scales Walls.
Do you like them better this way? I sure do, and now my mind is full of ideas thanks to all the amazing nail bloggers out there!
