OPI Hong Kong Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review – Part II

Good morning all!

Today I have the second half of OPI’s Hong Kong collection for spring 2010.

I mentioned in part I that I thought I would like that half better, and I was right. Kind of. This half actually surprised me. I really liked three of these a lot and the others didn’t “floor” me, but weren’t half bad either. Let me know what you think.

Pearl Of Wisdom

Pearl Of Wisdom is a sheer pink opalescent with shimmer. This is one of those ones that’s gorgeous in the bottle, but always extremely sheer. This was three coats here and it never really “built up” the color. I like that it has shimmer though, you don’t often see that with these pearl colors.

OPI Hong Kong Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review – Part I

Hi all!

I have some exciting stuff to show you today! I’ve got OPI’s Hong Kong Collection for spring 2010. This will be part I since there are 12 total colors in this collection.

The ones I am showing you today (I think) will wind up being my favorites, though I haven’t yet swatched the other ones. I am going by “bottle looks” alone.

Please know that these had to be swatched under indoor lighting yet again. I think I have given up on the sun for the rest of winter, and am just gonna suck it up and have semi-crappy pictures for now! I am just way too far behind on swatching to wait for weekend sun at this point. icon smile OPI Hong Kong Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review Part I

The formula on these was fairly thick. You definitely have to wait a good 1-2 minutes between coats or it got “globby”. The great thing about the thickness though was that all of these were just two coats (with one exception, which was only one coat!) Peep ‘em out!

OPI Bling Dynasty OPI Hong Kong Collection for Spring 2010 Swatches and Review Part I
Bling Dynasty

Bling Dynasty is a yellow/gold with gold shimmer. It does have a sort of “burnt” gold quality to it in my eyes. I thought for sure this was going to look horrible on me, but it wound up being pretty decent, and I liked it! This is the only shimmer of the six I have today.

OPI Alice in Wonderland Collection Swatches and Review

Good morning everyone.

Ugh, it’s Monday yet again. Doesn’t it seem like the weekends fly by in like 2 hours and then the work week takes 3 weeks to get through? I am SO over it!

Anyway maybe the new Alice in Wonderland collection by OPI will help cheer us up!

This is a limited edition collection and inspired by Tim Burton’s soon-to-be released movie. Now if you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know I am a HUGE Tim Burton fan. I want to live inside his movies, I love his vision so much! So of course I needed to try this collection out.

Oh and just as an FYI, the weather hasn’t been cooperating for weeks now (on the weekends anyway), so I had to swatch these indoors under two lamps with incandescent light bulbs. They actually didn’t come out as horrific as other indoor swatches I have done in the past I think it’s because my new camera is just so awesome. But the glitters just aren’t as glittery and shiny as they would be in the sun, so take heed!

OPI Off with Her Red OPI Alice in Wonderland Collection Swatches and Review
Off With Her Red!

Off With Her Red! is an orange/red creme. This one doesn’t really interest me that much, it’s been done so many times before I think. The formula was great on it though, and I only needed two coats.

OPI Holiday Wishes for Winter 2009 Swatches and Review

Hey there Internet, how are you today?

Remember waaaaaaay back last week when I posted the first part of OPI’s Holiday Wishes collection? Well I finally have the second half to show you. The sad part is, the sun decided to hate me this day, so the pics aren’t as nice as they should have been, sigh. Oh well, I guess I can’t control Mother Nature.

The formula on these is really good and thick. Almost all of them were two coaters.

For me, this is the better half of the collection (read: no red’s). Let me know what you think!

Shim-Merry Chic

Shim-Merry Chic is a caramel colored polish with gold flake glitter, and green  and gold micro-glitter. I love this one because it’s unique, and really pretty. This was three coats for full opacity,

OPI Holiday Wishes for Winter 2009 Swatches and Review – Part I

Hey there!

Today I will be showing you the first half of my swatches of OPI’s new winter 2009 collection called Holiday Wishes.

Holiday Wishes is comprised of a lot of reds, and then quite a few interesting colors that I wouldn’t normally think OPI would do. The finishes are super cool and different on a lot of them.

As far as formula, these are all on the thicker side, but also nice and opaque in just two coats for most. Let’s take a peek!

OPI Ginger Bells OPI Holiday Wishes for Winter 2009 Swatches and Review Part I
Ginger Bells!

Ginger Bells! is a, um, ginger colored creme? Don’t know how else to describe it! Kind of gingerbread cookie-esque. I actually really didn’t like it until the third coat, and I still kind of think it’s just meh. Maybe it just doesn’t look good on me. As I said, this was three coats.
