OPI Suzi Says Sell Out Swatches & Review

Ok you got me, this isn’t a new OPI color, rather a statement on the fact that OPI was bought out by Coty, Inc. this week for $1 billion bucks.

It’s really a huge bummer for me because as you may or may not know, I have decided to go cruelty-free with my cosmetics. Because Coty, Inc. does animal testing, I will not support any company that they own, which now includes OPI, Nicole by OPI and (I assume) Sephora by OPI. OPI still states they will not do animal testing, which is similar to what Essie stated when they were bought by L’Oreal, but the fact remains that money will be going towards a company that does test on animals.

It’s a really sad state of affairs that people seem to care more about money and looking nice than animal welfare in this country. As I mentioned in my article about animal testing, the European Union is banning all animal testing in cosmetics by 2013. I really wish we could be that advanced here in the US. Continue reading »

OPI Burlesque Collection for Holiday 2010 Swatches & Review – Part II

OPI Burlesque1 OPI Burlesque Collection for Holiday 2010 Swatches & Review Part II

OPI Burlesque for holiday 2010 features twelve new colors. I showed you the shimmer ones the other day and today I have the glitter half.

Glitters. What a pain in the arse! I was kind of dreading swatching these because of the removal. Now I am starting to see why some bloggers just show one finger because the removal is so much easier that way!

Ok so now that we established that there are a chore to remove, even under the best of circumstances, we can move onto the colors. They are all pretty cool. A couple I feel like I may have seen similar ones, but most I liked.

All of these were three coats to get the most amount of glitter on the nail, but none are totally opaque. Maybe if you used super thick coats or 4 coats.

Oh and for some reason my camera DID NOT like taking photos of these, so they aren’t my best, sorry. It refused to focus on all four nails at once. Canon-freak-out-over-glitter-explosion-o-rama! icon smile OPI Burlesque Collection for Holiday 2010 Swatches & Review Part II

OPI Burlesque Collection for Holiday 2010 Swatches & Review – Part I

OPI Burlesque OPI Burlesque Collection for Holiday 2010 Swatches & Review Part I

OPI has released a collection of 12 new colors called Burlesque for holiday/winter 2010.

All of the new colors are either shimmery glitter or are super colorful chunky glitters. Today I’ve got the shimmery glitters to show you. These are all very rich and saturated.

The formula was pretty good with all of these. They had good coverage for the most part and were not too thick or thin. Removal can be a mess since the tiny shimmery bits tend to get all over your fingers, but it’s the price we pay!

OPI Go Goth Nail Collection for Halloween 2010 Swatches & Review

OPI Go Goth OPI Go Goth Nail Collection for Halloween 2010 Swatches & Review

OPI wants us to Go Goth this Halloween with their mini-set of four dark, vampy nail lacquers.

Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year so I am always happy to check out what cute collections are out.

Mini bottles aren’t my favorite because they are hard to work with. What do I have hamster hands? icon smile OPI Go Goth Nail Collection for Halloween 2010 Swatches & Review But I do love all these colors even though they all have dupes or close-to-dupes for them.

The formula was decent, no issues really. They all managed to cover nicely in two coats.
